It's NOT fireproof
The media could not be loaded. Not an attractive rug but I bought it anyway because it said fireproof, so it would protect the carpet. Embers have burnt a number of holes right through the rug. It is a nightmare to clean as bits seem to tangle up in the fibres, and because it creeps regardless of what weight is holding it in place.

Fire risk not fireproof
This mat is not fit for purpose and is incredibly dangerous. Some ash came out of our fire and burnt a whole in the mat straight away, thankfully I was sitting there or it could have caught fire. I have reported this item to Amazon as dangerous.As someone else mentioned, the item received is different from the photos, our mat did not have the stitched edging to it and looked like it had been cut from a roll.If I could it zero stars, I would.Hopefully Amazon pull this item as unsafe and dangerous. I await my refund after quality checks have been made on this item.

Does what it's supposed to
I bought this to protect the floor by our log burner as I was worried that the heat would make it warp.This mat fits perfectly in front of the hearth and has stopped the floor getting hot. It's not pretty to look at but we just put it out when the log burner is in use and shake it out and fold it up the next morning.I didn't want to spend a fortune so quite happy with this purchase

Nothing like the description, shiny back all creased and separating. Not a rug or mat, just a piece of cheep fabric badly cut off a roll. Amazon you need to get this tested

It doesn’t work…absolutely useless.
The first time I used this item an ember from our fireplace jumped out and landed on the Matt and burnt a hole instantly, this matt is not fireproof.Do not buy this item, it’s a complete waste of time.

It is more of a fuzzy mat, then a rug. I love it, it truly helps with the ambers that fly out when loading wood. It does a great job!!!

False Advertising on this product!!!
The thickness is more paper thin, value for money I got ripped off on this product. It is not slip proof and does not do what was described. So it’s now a rug to wipe your feet on. Save your money DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!

it gets the job done but definitely should be more used as an outside grill mat versus a protection for your fireplace

The rug is much thinner than you think. It has worked out well, as I don’t trip on the edge.
I’m using it in front of my wood stove.

Not that great
It's really thin and it's the cheapest solution to protect my floor around the fireplace since everything else is hundreds of dollars!
