Not really sure. I’m sure the motor came from another country as most do. The splitter works great. I split 4 cords of wood last weekend.

What kind of power does it need. 3 phase?

I think the fellow who you asked misunderstood the question. This is NOT a 3 phase system. It takes a 3 prong plug in on a standard 115v/120v.

Will this cut logs into kindling for woodstove?

What I’ve experienced is that the logs have to have a round part to rest on. I also use a wood stove to heat our house. Really depends on how small you want for your stove. I found that it’s difficult to cut very small slivers. All in all this splitter does an amazing job to be electric. I have cut about 6 cords of wood so far this year.
