Fantastic Heater as Long as Wiring is Updated.
To be honest, I actually came here to leave this heater a poor review, but have changed my tune after contacting Marley. Here's why.I originally purchased this 7500 watt heater in November of 2017. I installed it in my uninsulated (on three sides) 25' x 30' garage. At first it worked great. In 20 degree weather outside it could heat my garage enough that I didn't even need to wear a jacket inside. I was in love. That was until it stopped heating during the second winter. Now, I don't like to complain (which is why I waited over three years to leave this review), and I don't like to return items, so I dug in to the bottom of the unit and found a burnt wire. I replaced that wire and the heater was once again working fine.In the two years since that first incident, I've actually had to replace three more wires due to the same issue. This last time was just a couple of weeks ago and that's when I decided I had to bite the bullet and leave a not so great review on this thing. But before I did that I decided to look at other reviews and see of other people were having the same problem as I was. Turns out it was actually pretty common with heaters made around the same time mine was, and the newer ones had the wiring problems fixed, so I chose to contact the manufacturer rather than leave a negative review right away.I contacted them via email and explained my problem. I knew that there was upgraded wiring in the newer heaters so, being that mine has been out of warranty for two plus years, I asked if they have a wiring upgrade type of kit I could purchase. To be honest, I had already purchased some heavier gauge wire to replace the existing wires, but if they had a pre-terminated kit available I figured I'd go that route instead. Anyways, I received a response the next day asking for the date code of my unit. I gave them that info (07/2017 manufacture date) and included a photo of the unit label showing the date code as well. The next response from them was asking where I wanted the wire sent. No hassle, no payment requested, just where do you want it to go. So I gave them that info as well. The next day I was informed that is was sent out and was given an order number for if I wanted to check on the status. This was on 1/19/2021. I replied and thanked the man for the easy process.Fast forward to yesterday (1/24/2021) and I get a notification from UPS that I had a package due to be delivered from Marley (the manufacturer) today, but the package weight was 30 pounds! I guessed, and today was proven correct, that they had actually sent me an entirely new heater instead of the wiring to fix mine. Now keep in mind this is a heater with a one year warranty and I've had mine for over three years. I can't say enough about Marley in this situation. They didn't have to replace or fix anything at no charge, let alone send an entirely new unit. I am a very happy customer and would not hesitate to buy another Marley product at this point. And again, on this heater's performance, I couldn't ask for much more. I wasn't expecting it to heat this uninsulated space nearly as well as it does. If temps are in the 30's or above here in Virginia, It can get the garage downright balmy. I love it.

Not a SAFE PRODUCT...DO NOT PURCHASE!!!
First off the heater works...Got garage warm pretty quick. However after only running it for a week the heater stopped working. I opened it up to find (image posted) that the wires had burned up. I take this very seriously and pretty upset that the company would sell an item that could place a family in danger like this. I understand if it was one wire and was just a fluke but all wires...and I'm not the first one to write a complaint about this. I strongly recommend to purchasing this heater.***One other note, can't contact dealer, phone always has a busy signal***

Great Heater --if it has the updated wiring
This heater is awesome, but:As others' pics have already shown, my unit also had the 12 gauge wire issue. I bought this in October 2017. It was manufactured in September 2017. It is wired to 6/2 Romex on a 40-amp breaker. Last year I noticed that it wasn't producing as much heat as usual. The air blowing out was warm, but not hot (usually you can be 10 feet away from it and it's almost too hot to stand in the airflow...a good thing!) A bit after that, the overheat light came on. I opened the bottom panel and besides a few dead flies, did not notice anything out of the ordinary. I didn't use the unit again for a out 6 months until a week ago as it had been the warm season. The problem now is that the the heater makes the usual loud click when it turns on, but the fan never starts up. I can hear it humming, which is the heating element being energized, and the thermostat should turn the fan on once a certain temp is reached. I had assumed it meant the heating element went bad. I took the unit down, opened it fully and found several completely burnt-through wires --just like in the photos posted by others. Good thing my house didn't burn down. We have enough problems with the wildfires 10 miles from us!I actually went ahead and bought 8 gauge wire and replaced the burnt ones, hoping to save time and money vs going through the warranty process, since you have to pay the cost of shipping and that would've been far more than the cost of 5 ft of 8 AWG wire from Home Depot. Unfortunately, this didn't solve the problem of it putting out half-heat. I'm sure much more than the wiring got fried --especially thinking back on that overheat light I had last year. Who knows what was cooking in there and for how long?I called Marley directly and explained everything and they asked what date code the unit had and then told me the retailer had done a crap job wiring units of that vintage and they are now sending me a new heater with the proper wiring to forgo the run around I'd probably have if a new wiring kit wouldn't fix it (and I already know it wouldn't).Bottom line, this heater is awesome. When it worked at 100%, I was very happy with it. I have an insulated 36' x 48' garage with 11-ft ceilings and it could keep it 80-90 deg if I wanted, even with sub-zero temps outside. I usually keep it just a bit above the lowest setting and that keeps a comfortable 50 degrees down there. I estimate it runs 15 times a day at around 10 minutes each cycle. Based on our $0.09/kWh rate, it costs about $1.50/day.
