Handbook of Sewing Stitches. An Illustrated Guide ......... by Lorna Knight
I'm an experienced needlewoman but when I saw my friend's copy of this book I decided I just had to get a copy of my own. It's full of detailed and very easy to follow instructions, showing step by step images of how to do umpteen stitches and stitch finishes. I think anyone who is interested in sewing or embroidery of any style would find this book useful. It's even interesting to thumb through even when you're not looking for a particular stitch or technique. Excellent book and worth the cost.

Really useful handbook for sewers.
A very useful guide to stitches and techniques for both hand and machine sewing, also overlockers are covered. This also offers good advice on needle and sewing machine feet types for different fabric weights and types of projects, including seams, hems, fastenings, boning, buttonholes and zippers.
