This is a page turning horror story which would keep your heart racing till the end. An absolutely relatable, courageous heroine was a pleasure to read about. The book is full of twists that would keep your heads twirling. The writing is simple, yet atmospheric and the vivid imagery is akin to that of a horror movie.What could have been better: The climax was a bit flat - I felt it was too simple as compared to the thrilling events in rest of the book. But don't let that hold you back from imbibing this mind racing story.Trigger warning: There is a lot of bloodshed and graphic writing.Rating: 3.9/5So, grab a candle and a drink, get ready to get spooked.

She will fight ghouls, demonically possessed boys, Zombified Men, Undersheriff and every supernatural being she comes across. She WILL get down to the bottom of the things and nothing can stop her. Not even the King Himself.Strength: Amazingly well written plot, with perfect pacing (Neither too rushed nor too laxed). Characters are just lovely, and the twists are typhoony which jabs your jaw out of nowhere. And for ONCE, the protagonist is not DUMB out of her mind. EVERY choice she makes is the best one in the circumstances and it is good. It is so refreshing to not see characters doing stupid things JUST to make the story go a certain way. I can't express how happy I was after reading it.Weakness. NONE! SHOO! GO AWAY!Why to read: If you love Magical Realism, that too done right(Oh how I miss Mitty), love yourself a Gothic Fantasy fiction and love good plot and pacing, then knock yourself out and grab this book. Trust me you will not be disappointed.Why not to read: If you are not a fan of these genres. But then what are you even doing here? Go...Shoo. This novel is literally the BEST one out there in this genre.Personal reason to like this book: There was once a time in my life where i was HOOKED on reddit horror rules stories. It is where a new guy is given a night duty in some establishment, like library or Subway station or Mall or School, along with a list of rules. They don't follow it because of course, and then chaos ensues. The three rules underlines here were a direct hook for me then since it resonated with me on personal level. Although the plot is different overall, It was those three rules that grabbed my attention, and I am glad they did.

This is delicious dark fantasy filled with unique characters, unique monsters and a big twist I didn't see coming! I love fantasy and horror and this is the best of either genre I've read in years. I can't understand why this book isn't a HUGE bestseller! It certainly deserves to be. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

The author is a little in your face about being a liberal which, okay your views influence your writing but it takes away from immersion. Thats the first star off, the second star off is the latter two fifths feel rushed and undeveloped.

Love it! So many surprises and twists. Really makes you think. You never know who to believe, it is after all a story about lies.

It held me in suspense from beginning to the end with twists and turns all the way through. I couldn't put it down.
