Q: What is the material it is made out of and does it come off on the ice after use?

As metallurgy is not my profession, I have to rely on the product info: ” Food-Grade AL Material: Constructed of aircraft aluminum alloy”. The product is cheap and light, there fore you need to warm it up with hot water between the spheres. The ice ball is sometimes challenging to remove, just turn it upside down and grab it and you have 1st class outcome if your ice is up to the task. Happy bartendering!

Q: how do you make or acquire the ice to put in the ball maker?

It DOES NOT come with any ice trays

Q: Where do you find a silicone mold for this?

I have not found one. All the square molds on Amazon are 2” squares, not large enough for the 2.4” sphere to melt into without flat edges.
