Excellent price. Fits "un-famous" spans (dimensions below). Sits nicely. Stable enough and as expected. Shiny inside & out.
I have saucepans from another maker entirely, Royalty Tools of the Trade. I bought them at Macy's long ago; so long that the lids are metal not glass which they are now (on Amazon at least). This steamer insert sits well on my two sauce pans with the INTERIOR dimensions of 7 1/8", and 7 15/16", respectively. On both pans, the insert sits on its middle ring. It sits just fine but not tightly. I expect a very slight escape of steam where they join. This is a non-issue. My larger lid --which measures 8 1/4" diameter from far edge to far edge-- fits on top of this insert. It has a little play from side to side, but no gaps. No disrespect to the lid that came with the pan. It's nicely made, had a good finish, and fits perfectly with very little play. As a test of stability, I bumped hard into the handle from many angles. When I bump from the side, the steamer merely rotates and doesn't spill. When I bump hard from underneath, it clatters yet falls into place. When I bump hard from above, it tips within the saucepan but doesn't spill. This level of stability is more than adequate. Besides, I always turn my handles to the side so I never bump into my pans anyway. True, the steamer that came with my set of pans is more stable because it nests 2" deep into the outside saucepan pan. No insert that fits more than one size pan will have such a deep fit. So it's not realistic to expect that. This insert has a mirror finish inside and out. A magnet clings to the sides inside and out. It pulls slightly to the perforated base, where the food sites, but barely. The handle appears firmly attached with rivets. Here's one funny thing. The middle of the perforated area is ever so slightly elevated. This means the liquid will move to the perimeter where there are no holes. I expect liquid will pool a bit around the edges. This bugs me, yet is true of every metal steamer I've ever seen other than those little petal jobs (which have other more serious issues). I just wish a good metal flat bottom steamer also worked as a good colander. The particular insert I received has a small manufacturing flaw where the inside surface isn't smooth and perhaps the aluminum isn't covered well enough. I'm exchanging it for another one. If it wears well, I'll probably replace the steamer than came with my pan set years ago, because its finish is wearing thin.

Fits 20-Centimeter pots, ie 4 quart Cuisinart! Can also be used with the 3 qt.
Love this steamer! I have had it 10 years, using it with a the 4 qt Cuisinart saucepan. It fits perfectly! I use it to steam anything and everything. I recently updated my cookware from "non-stick" to Cuisinart French Classic cookware, and was a bit worried because I could not find the matching steamer. Not to worry, Cuisinart cookware is consistently designed, and this fits my new 4 qt sauce pan perfectly. It also subs in as a colander when I make pasta in the 4 qt saucepan. The lid is metal, not glass, so you do have to lift it to see in, or buy an extra glass one from Cuisinart. The only downside to this steamer is that the handle is NOT the beautiful French Classic curved handle, but, since there doesn't appear to be a French Classic steamer available, any steamer I buy will not have the matching handle, so this works fine. I am considering buying a second one, so that I can steam veggies in one, while steaming dumplings in a second one. Update: I ordered the steamer for the Cuisinart Pro set as a second steamer, and it is identical to this steamer, except for the straight handle from that set - and the higher price. I actually like this handle better, I feel like I have a better grip with the curves, I find the straight handle feels "slippy", so I ordered a third steamer - a second of THIS steamer, so, I now have 3. They nest together beautifully, and also work exactly like my bamboo steamer to do multiple layers of steaming - but in dishwasher safe stainless steel! So I have ditched my bamboo steamer set for these. Very happy with this steamer. Note, this steamer has a second "ring" so that it will also fit the 3 quart pan. Cuisinart makes double boiler inserts exactly fit both the three quart and 4 quart pans, but I have not found a Cuisinart steamer for the 3 quart only. The larger steamer looks a bit ungainly on the three quart pan, but it sits firmly, is stable and functions just fine, so if you needed to, you could steam just fine using this steamer and the 3 quart. The 4 quart pans are quite reasonable if you catch them on sake, even better, so if you would be stacking steamers regularly as I am, might want to get an extra 4 qt pan? 😁

Still in use today... has held up really well. Easy to use with my other pots and pans.
Still in use today... has held up really well. Easy to use with my other pots and pans. Have not had any issues with this and toss it in the dishwasher for easy clean-up and not a problem. Well done. Well made!

Very nice pan
I bought this pan to replace one I had for 25 years that I ruined. This Cuisinart pan is lighter weight and thinner than my old one, but it's nice, well made and large with a well-fitting steamer insert and lid. It's a good valu. I recommend it.

Works well with older models
I just wanted to tell everyone who says this does not work well certain pots. I have an older and a little cheaper set of cuisinart pots and pans and this steamer was the perfect compliment to my 3Qt pot. The second pic is my original pot that it fits. It is model 7193-20

Great steaming possibilities!
I wanted ways to try and cook healthier, so I decided to try the steam method in order to steer clear of cooking with oils. This has been a great steamer and is very good quality. I have the 4-quart sauce pan and it fits just fine. I would say that the holes are just the right size so that they dont get plugged easily yet it doesn't let smaller items fall through. I like the flat bottom so you can steam such things as fish as well. Great for vegtables and seafood! Add some seasoning to the water below to infuse in some addational flavor! Happy eating!

Great Steamer.
This Cuisinart steamer is great. Exactly what I was looking for and it fits my pot perfectly. I use it all the time and all the food comes out perfect—a great value.

cheap?
inside of steamer had black markings along the side- looks like metal coating was worn or damaged. Fit pots but not snugly. Doesn't seem great quality

I bought this steamer with a Cuisinart 2qt saucepan but it doesn’t fit snugly

Light but sturdy, lid fits well and works with most of my pots. I use it to steaming dumplings for which it is a bit small since the base is designed to fit a small pot (gives me enough for slightly more than 1 serving since they can't be piled up on each other).

I love it but its on the pricey side. That's its only downside.
