Very good movie

I watched this with my two teen daughters - very good story about walking out your faith.

The relatively easy availability of guns or rifles (protected by the US Constitution) is often cited as the cause of such a high frequency of school shootings. However, the movie 'I'm Not Ashamed' takes weapons for granted and does not focus on them. Instead, it adds another cause to school shootings: the intensity of bullying. The movie centers on one of the most gruesome school shootings in the USA, that of Columbine High School, Colorado. 12 students and 1 teacher passed away, 24 people were injured. The movie suggests that bullying might indirectly cause school shootings.Bullying is a serious problem, and one of the negative consequences is that it breeds true hatred. This can have repercussions not only on the bullied individuals but also on those who sympathize with the bullied and/or think bullying shouldn't happen.Before writing this review, I looked up some research, and it appears that anti-bullying laws in the USA have generated many positive outcomes for students on average (Rees, Sabia, Kumpas, JPAM). The extent of enforcement of these laws is not entirely clear, but it seems evident that they have saved lives.

Let's be clear; this is a movie about the life of Rachel Scott and how she impacted those around her. This is NOT a movie about the columbine massacre. If that's what you're looking for, don't watch this. I just got done reading so many negative reviews about how this movie is nothing about columbine (it's not supposed to be) and how it's just Christian propaganda (She WAS a devout Christian, and that's a big role in why she's so memorable).Rachel Scott is an inspiration. To be completely fair, the movie itself wasn't overly exciting or interesting. But it's something I'm glad I own. It's so uplifting and inspiring, and I highly recommend it. Watching this girls life will make you want to be a better person.I've seen the accuracy of the events called into question, but I have to say, it doesn't make a huge difference. It doesn't matter if it wasn't 100% true. Yes, some things were played up for theatrics, but that doesn't change the message. And it definitely doesn't change the person she was.So, yes, this movie is about Christianity. Not the biblical stories, or anything too deep. But it's about a young girls views on religion. And how it shaped her life, and motivated all her actions. Ultimately, she made herself be a better person, because she thought that was what was right. And I think we could all connect with that, regardless of our religion. So if you're mature and can handle someone loving God, even if it's not what you personally believe in, I urge you, try this movie.

I remember the day the shootings happened at Columbine, and wondering how two teens could be filled with so much anger as to want to kill fellow students and teachers. If they attained their goals, the number of casualties would have been a lot higher. Thankfully, their plan did not go as expected, and that spared a lot of lives.I had read briefly about the story of Rachel Joy Scott and how she was the first to be killed, and I believe her faith and her love of Jesus singled her out as a target. The movie shows us, largely through her journals that were later found, that she had struggles just like the rest of us. She did not fit in, she questioned her direction, she had moments of doubt. But she always had a friend to lean on and once she commited fully to living for Him, she decided she was going to do what she could to be a light of hope to a dark world.At first I thought I may not like the movie, because I realize a person's story cannot be told 100% accurately secondhand, but I believe they did a good job creating her character from what she had written. At just 17 years old, she sought out those less fortunate and did not see people with the eyes of judgement, but with the eyes of someone who wanted to change the world and make it a better place. She was not pushing her religion on anyone, rather conveying a message of hope and compassion. I think her life impacted not only those around her, but it continues to impact people yet today. Her life on earth was way too brief, but her message has probably found its way into more lives than she could have ever imagined. She would be happy knowing her work continues. So selfless, so humble, at that tender age to stand up against all odds to defend her best friend, Jesus Christ. This movie should be an inspiration for people who need that extra boost to show the world what they believe in without worrying about the repercussions. I think it would especially be good for teens and young people to see, those who may be looking for answers to problems that they feel they face alone. We all face trials, Rachel was no different. We are all humans, and are not perfect. It is how we choose to live our lives and who we choose to commit them to that define us. She was unashamed, and her story inspired me.

There are no words I can use to express the beauty of this movie. It is both heart wrenchingly sad and inspiring. I highly doubt it.

A me il film piace molto, ma purtroppo non posso vedere il CD sul computer, perchè sono in Italia. Ma non lo sapevo, é comunque un bel film, perché l'avevi già visto, quindi lo consiglio.Ravvedetevi e credete in Gesù.I like that movie a lot,but I can't view it on my computer, because I live in Italy. I didn't know that, but Its still a very good movie, abd I reccomend it.Repent and believe in Jesus ☺

I bought this dvd to share with a small group of teenagers I mentor, we had a relaxed evening watching the film and then an open and frank discussion about it after. A lot of Christian films are "cheesy" to say the least, but this movie showed a brutally honest example of what our young people face on a daily basis. I'm sure there will be people who out this down, but the young people I showed it to gave it a round of applause at the end. I was a little shocked by their response but as they opened up in the discussion that followed, it was they only way they knew how to release the plethora of emotions and thoughts this movie left them feeling. I'm based in London, and the kids I work with face horrific news headlines of shootings and stabbings every day. My aim was to show them that in the midst of this chaos, they still have a choice .

This is absolutely a Pureflix masterpiece! Really well done, great acting and a message full of hope, encouragement & life. Not only for believers - a movie for everyone. It will inspire you & hopefull draw you closer to Jesus Christ. Authentic, true & pure.
