McFarlane Toys has FINALLY released their action figures for 2022's The Batman, and they did not disappoint!! ... for the most part. REVIEW: ---------- FYI: I heard that WB doesn't want their action figures to come with guns anymore, given the current rise in gun violence all over the world. This is a noble cause, but it also kind of hurts the product in the end, as a lot of the villains in the Batman franchise use guns, especially Rogues Gallery favorite Oswald 'Oz' 'The Penguin' Cobblepot. The figure itself comes with a set of inter-changeable hands (one in the pose of a finger pistol) a Penguin trading card and a black stand for display. The likeness to Colin Farrell's Penguin is superb and spot on, and I'm happy to add it to my growing THE BATMAN collection!! (I already have Paul Dano's Riddler!!) The gun exclusion is a pretty fair point, even though Oz's seen firing a Mac-10 Uzi at Batman, while shouting, "Hey Vengeance!! You think you can come after my money?!!" If he couldn't come with a gun, then I personally would've loved to have him come with his folded-up signature black umbrella. (I'm thinking of giving my Arkham City Penguin's umbrella to this new iteration!!) But, there is a bright side if you want him to hold a gun; both his hands seem configured to hold one each, with a bendable, curved trigger-finger on both, so if you have some spare NECA, McFarlane toy guns laying around, then you can arm him. That's exactly what I did; I gave him an Uzi from my misplaced Gail action figure from Sin City, and he holds it perfectly!! VERDICT: ----------- Other than those few gripes, I am more than happy with my Oz action figure, and would highly recommend it to collector's everywhere!! Nice detail, remarkable likeness, and a true winner in every sense of the word!! Add him to your collection today, you won't regret it!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
