The Auniwaig Wall Mounted Height Meter is a handy measuring gadget, perfect for narrow spaces. We used to always have our kids stand against the wall and we’d mark the top of their head and then measure the height of the line, but that never seemed like a very accurate way to do it. This device is similar to the stadiometer at the doctor’s office, except that it has a roll-down retractable ruler and it's not attached to a step-on scale. You simply pull the tape measure down until the straight edge touches the top of the person’s head, and the height will show in the little window. The only problem is, the measurements are only in centimeters! So you'll have to convert them to feet and inches. My husband is good at math and he says it’s easy to do, but I think I’ll tape a conversion scale to the wall.This is a simple, old-fashioned device - no digital screen, and no batteries or charging needed! It’s made of durable ABS black plastic and the screws needed for installation are included. It comes in a cute triangular box with instructions on how to mount it to ensure accuracy. You set it on the floor and pull it from the bottom up, then affix it to the wall at the right spot. After that, you pull from the top down to measure. It’s small enough to be portable, but you'll have to re-attach it every time you move it. We just leave it mounted on the wall at the end of the hallway between two bedroom doors. You can still mark lines on the wall if you want to, or keep a height chart on a piece of paper. The height meter goes up to 6 feet 7 inches (200 cm), so it can be used to measure both children and adults.

we hung this on a wall in the garage and it is quick and easy to measure and mark our children's growth. We are in US so we convert to inches when we want to know the height but usually we just use it to mark the height and we write a date and name next to the mark. The long flat bottom that is perpendicular to the wall makes it easy to find the height of the person.
