I purchased two of these for exterior doors and they were very easy to install. I used a self tapping screw to start the pilot holes which made things easy. The product is high quality. I did not want a barricade bar that fully removed, so I went with this one. I love it. You really can’t put a price on peace of mind!

Easy to install, seems sturdy enough. A bit expensive.

The metal is pretty weak and bends pretty easily. The barricades should be a thicker and stronger as well as the brackets that are installed into the door frame.

We use this on an outside door from our laundry room in the house. It's very secure, but easy to open and secure when desired.

This is a new review of this produce after I purchased one and saw the quality of the product. I first thought the end pieces were made wrong. Thats because the pictures provided by seller showed them wrong, they're not, they work fine. Look at the pictures I have attached. Because of my door being a 3-foot hollow door and with special designs in it which prevented me from using screws, I had to mount the product on a 3"x3' aluminum 1/8" plate to provide the ability to mount the lock to the door. Another issue I found was this lock is not made for a 3' door, no matter how it is advertised. The end lock plate only enters the end latch about 1/4" at the most. No security here. I had to drill another hole and tap it with an 8m x 1.25 thread to move the latch pin 1". So, as you can see it now will latch at least 1 1/4" into the end latch plate. The end product works fine now. Hope this helps someone in the decision of purchasing this product.

Looks sturdy and like a fantastic product for a narrow door on an older home.

The only real thing I can see as a benefit is people can’t card open your door so they can’t sneak in meaning they have to be loud giving me plenty of time to arm myself.

Great barrier for slowing down an intruder, but I'm just not sure it would prevent a determined invader... but really what does at this price? It looks neat and to an average homeowner's eye it's a good design in that bars extend to both sides of the door (hinged side and opening side) and the fixtures that catch the 'bolts' are attached inside the frame with the ability for you to swap out the provided screws and put 4 inch screws that would go through the door surround, the frame and into the stud. You can screw the bolts into place once locked to prevent them from sliding out again. There are some additional knobs that act as hooks if you want to hang anything off it. As you'll probably put this about halfway up your door then you cant hang long thinhs off it. The bars that make the bolts are flat straps of metal. They will flex just with normal use, and would likely bend with enough force. I'm not sure if this design of 'bar' is a stroke of genius or just form over function. By being flat straps the whole thing is smaller than it would be if had round bars. It may even be that by providing flex then it absorbs some brute force before transmitting it to the frame. I feel more secure with it on.

Easy install and keeps us safe but should come with a place to put a pad lock. Also there is slop in the mechanism so if someone tries to open the door they could still get it to open slightly
