St. Martin's Essentials The Last Diet.: Discover the Secret to Losing Weight - For Good

Not for everyone, some potential helpful parts?
1) At no point does the author appeal to those who really love food, love to cook, and/or eat out.2) The book seems to be written for a specific profile, regularly making assumptions and stereotypes of this profile. This profile is “bored, stuck in a rut and guiltily eat for comfort and/or strongly associate food with emotion”. If you are not, then it might not be for you.3) The first 50+ pages are waffle, don’t let that put you off if you really want to read it.4) The last diet should be healthy e.g. NHS guidelines. This book should be called “self-help for overeaters”.5) The author says she assumes you know what a good diet looks like. I think this is quite dangerous - chances are that your view of good is really warped if you bought this book.I read the whole book, doing all the exercises as faithfully as possible. I found the “that’s it” exercise useful, but given my point 1) I suspect I wasted my time. However, I can see how some individuals would find this book helpful. Good luck.

Thankyou Sharoo
I read this book in 3 days & plan on reading it again now, with a notepad & pen to complete the exercises.Immediately afterwards I sat hugging the book for half an hour with a big smile on my face.Sharoo has subtly taught me how to treat myself with kindness & respect....something I hadn't quite realised had been lacking to such a sad degree.Having only read it this week I can't yet vouch for its weight loss effects, but I can say, genuinely, that this book has had a massive impact on me already; in the way I talk to myself, in the way I treat my body & in the way I live my life.I can't wait to see what the future holds for me with this new, kind perspective of myself and I can't Thank Sharoo enough for imparting her wisdom, expertise & kindness on us all. Thankyou Sharoo xx

A refreshing way to own weight loss.
I don't do one sitting reads often but this one grabbed me and spoke to me. As I start 2020 and need to lose weight I wanted something that would endure and change the way I think rather than how I act. I am a food relapser so this was excellent and applying it will be empowering by shifting my prisms and dealing compassionately with myself. Shahroo always writes in a humble way but with real authority and this is a brilliant book.

A new approach that brings hope
It’s so refreshing to hear about a new approach to weight loss. Shahroo speaks from personal experience and professional expertise related to addiction to bring a new hope to so many who’ve carried the burden of bad food habits and are in need of a new normal.
