Bosch automotive products is associated with quality that I had learned over the years.Not wanting a China product I emailed the company and asked where was the software developed and the hardware made. The software was developed in Michigan and the hardware was made in Mexico which is ok with me.I received the unit a few weeks ago and it works flawlessly. I have no complaints about it. When I emailed to ask several other questions I got prompt replies and to the point which I liked. I had read about China products and their service and they just blew you off.The customer needs to read the directions BEFORE using this product. You receive the product with out any software. You must go on line and open an account to download the software into the unit. The directions are very clear on this. You cannot just take it out of the box and go to the vehicle and use it. This only takes a few minutes to do. It took my download about a half hour to complete so be patient.On page 5 you will need to download the Scanning Suite. This will enable you to connect to the right URL to download the software.The only thing I can find to complain about is before you can download the software to the unit you need a USB mini cable which was not included with the unit. You can pick this up at Best Buy to connect your computer to the scanner.I suggest getting the extension cable for ease of reading the unit on you lap along with the manual "Haynes Techbook obd-II". The book goes into great detail as to what can go wrong associated with a DTC code.Otherwise I would recommend this product.

This is an excellent tool with a large array of trouble codes and the ability to do on demand testing both koeo and koer as well as pulling mode 6 data. It has some bi-directional functionality limited in my case to just the cooling fans, egr valve, IAC valve, fuel pump and injectors and possibly more for different makes. I was not able to cycle my abs with this tool nor is there an option but I was aware of this at purchase. It is capable of creating graphs but you can only see two parameters graphed at a time. It does real time read out of data. Can run tests on o2 sensors for certain models as well as charging system check. Has code check or something like that if the DTC displays code in the corner of the screen you can press the code button and it will display commonly reported fixes. Screen looks very nice out the box, you may want to get a screen projector(at least I wish I had) all around a very solid tool for the price.

This is a great tool but it could be improved. Only 4 starts because the user interface is terrible. The tool itself is awesome but not intuitive. You have to dig down menus that make no sense to find what you need. My other scantool (Innova) is much better at it. You find everything you need quickly and easily. I am not returning this scantool because it does much more than my old one but not a pleasant experience using it. Actron, your future model should have a touchscreen (instead of the keypad arrows) and a better-designed user interface. I will buy it in a heartbeat.

I have an “MB SD Connect C4 with Super Engineering Software DTS Monaco and Vediamo Plus EVG7” but it won’t do anything other than Mercedes-BenzThis Actron CP9695 is my first handheld scanner. I love it. The user interface is not that bad. It’s just a mater to play with it for a bit. It’s fast and gets you all the information needed to do the repairs. I’m very surprise for this price you get so much. I had a bit of problem with the scanner's arrow keys. Called Actron, “Automotive Service Solutions” directly rather than ask Amazon for an exchange, and they send me a new unit with a rush order, two days and I got the new unit. I try it and is working fine.I believe this product is made by Bosch.The product is excellent and the support is one of the best. It’s worth the investment.

Why doesn't this product come with a charging cord?

The quick start guide tells you to download the "Scanner Suite" software from the actron.com website onto your PC and connect the tool to the pc using a USB cord (type A to mini B), not provided. With the tool connected you are to check for firmware updates. This tool had three pending firmware updates, each labeled as "update required". The two oldest downloaded and installed just fine. The latest rev failed on its download with 22 seconds to go. Upon that failure, the tool locked up in program mode. Nothing I could do would reset the tool. Actron tech help was no help.The tool itself was chincy with low resolution on the screen. The user interface buttons were hard to press and were unresponsive. Overall impression of the tool and software are that the design is at least 20 years old and unapproved. One other thing the latest version of the scanning suite software does not recognise vehicles newer than 2015.

I have an older model that worked well for over 10 years, but I needed a newer one for my newer cars, and this one works really well. The user interface takes a little getting use to, but once you figure it out, it's pretty easy.

Likes:Fast delivery, easy to hold, very nice display, great features, especially related to BMW. Customer support was awesome in answering my questions before buying.Dislikes:Packaging was excellent but very hard to cut open.Other:My Actron purchase about 15 years ago is still performing like new. My new purchase here is quite an upgrade. Looks like brand is now under Bosch, but I have no problem with that. I especially like Actron's policy of free upgrades.
