Great translation and really good revision guide

What is there to say really, it's the complete works of Shakespeare. Arranged and edited very well. Useful contents pages which make it easy to find whatever you're looking for. For only fifty pence this is probably the best value item you're likely to buy in your lifetime.

Interesting and informative, a really good read for anyone wondering exactly what made the man tick. A wonderful description of the times, his family background, the religious constraints imposed by Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I, the characters and famous playwrights and actors he rubbed shoulders with and the inspiration which drove his writing.

It is always useful to have a complete works of Shakespeare at hand, and a kindle edition is easier to handle than my book version. I am glad to see that some of Shakespeare's works, which are doubtfully attributed, and which are not included in my book version, are included in this kindle version.

I had this book before so when I saw the kindle version I had to get it

All of Shakespeare's work at the tap of a finger - unimaginable when I was a boy. I have had a 'Complete Works' single volume edition since childhood, but the print seems even more tiny and compacted these days. However, no need to downsize the Bard any more - this Kindle edition offers font resizing flexibility. So, after all the magnifiers, All's Well That Ends Well.

I am a middle aged college student and had to read Othello for a Major Authors class. This was an easy and wonderful way to read an incredible play. It helped me immensely.

Ich studiere Anglistik und muss 'Othello' für einen Kurs lesen. Habe erst das reguläre Buch bestellt und bald festgestellt: Kriegste nicht hin. Das alte Englisch machte es mir schwer, dem Inhalt zu folgen und mein Interesse zu behalten. Mir fiel auf, dass ich nach lesen der ersten Seiten bereits gedanklich abgeschweift war, weil es einfach nicht funktionierte...Dann hat mir eine Kommilitonin erzählt, dass es Bücher wie dieses gibt, in vereinfachtem, modernen Englisch.Und was soll ich sagen? Meine Kursnote ist gerettet! Seit ich es bekommen habe, lese ich es gespannt, denn ich verstehe alles und die Geschichte mag ich bisher auch.Ein kleines Manko ist vielleicht, dass sich hier und da Rechtschreibfehler eingeschlichen haben, aber mich persönlich stört das überhaupt nicht. Es ist alles verständlich und der Preis ist klasse. Ich könnte nicht dankbarer sein für dieses Buch!

Shakespeare is not an easy read for anyone. Watching the play without understanding much of the dialogues reduces your enjoyment. Being francophones, my husband and I found this translation to be an excellent preparation for seeing the play at Stratford, Ontario.
