Good light formulation.
This BHA exfoliating serum from Facetheory is pleasant to apply on my combination skin. It has a good amount of BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) that is great for exfoliating the skin’s surface revealing soft, smoother, and younger looking skin.It comes in a 30ml push pump-style container that squirts out a good amount of serum each time. The serum has a lovely white colour that quickly absorbed into my skin, leaving it feeling smooth and looking dewy. It does tingle and make the skin feel warm for a few minutes though. The serum is made without all the nasties such as parabens, mineral oils, PEGs, SLSs, SLES, silicone and it’s also cruelty-free and suitable for vegans. With BHA, you’ll need to be careful not to overuse it and not to use too many exfoliating acid-based products at the same time. Too much of exfoliating acids could damage your skin barrier resulting in a variety of skin irritations such as itchy, red and inflammation, or even burns. You also don’t want to mix other actives such as retinols or antioxidants when using BHA products for the same reasons above.A good rule of thumb, it’s always wise to do a patch test before applying a new skincare on your face to see for any reactions. This serum is available on Amazon for £18.99 (at the time of writing), which is a good price to pay for a good product with good natural ingredients. All in all, a lovely exfoliating serum that makes my skin smooth, soft and brighter. If you don’t have any problems using BHA products, then this serum is worth a try.

Not so sure Glycolic Acid should stay on the skin.
Its decent and it works a bit better than some others I've tried that just have salycylic acid, but not sure about the glycolic acid that stuff is strong enough to burn the skin probably best to stick with a few drops and not go overboard with that acid.Normally pure glycolic acid actually burns the skin over time but that is pure format, I don't think this product has nearly as high as the glycolic acid I've tried in the past. So it should be safe decent product overall no allergic reactions so for me was ok, couldn't use it during day though only at night. These days though, I don't get any skin problems because of a clean diet which is all you need I cut out sugar wheat and dairy and my skin hasd stayed clear up after some months. Only when I start eating sugar again for a few days I'll have problems and this is where products like this can help. I have tried better products in the past but this is okay too.Actually another thing I have no idea why in the pictures it depict the product is clear like gel, it is not clear, it is pure white like cream.

BHA exfoliating serum
So the description states this is a:-Facetheory BHA exfoliating serum S3 pro with 3% carnitine and 2% salicylic Acid, vegan & cruelty-free. Made in UK ~ 30ml.I was surprised but the warnings along with the product.*** Do a test application*** Don’t use this if you are allergic to aspirin*** Don’t use if pregnant or under the age of 18.*** Your skin will be more sensitive and prone to sunburn*** Shake well before using. But after seeing the warnings I never considered it could affect my sensitivity to the sun. As I'm already allergic to the sun and have Sensitive dry skin.I don't know if it's out of habit or not but I always shake bottles before opening to mix the contents anyways but this one actually tells you to do so.Using the perpet you don't need another to cover the whole face. I've not had any reaction to useing it so far and it's become a part of my daily beauty regime. Followed my my moisturiser. So far so goodBut I will update this review if needed.*** Details:- * Brand:- Facetheory * Scent:- Chamomile, Green Tea * Item form:- Drop * Recommended uses for product:- Wrinkles, Acne. * Free of parabens, silicones, PEGs, SLS, SLES, and mineral oils. * Vegan and cruelty-free

My favourite skincare brand!
I love Facetheory products so much and was excited to try this exfoliator as I hadn't tried one before. I have combination skin and use a number of FT products regularly anyway.Pleased to see it has a leaflet with it - as with all FT products. It doesn't say how regularly it should be used so I wasn't sure but as it's a serum I can only assume it's okay to be used regularly. I did a all patch test before using with no issues. So far I have tried with a few days between but also tried a couple of days in a row, neither of which gave me any adverse reactions. I actually had more of a reaction from a different FT serum which was not an exfoliant which surprised me.I am pleased to say this is super hydrating and my skin looks bright and feels supple after use. No stinging, doesn't smell great but doesn't smell and either. Often FT products are either unscented or very lightly scented, I don't think this one is meant to be scented. I always use a sunscreen everyday (from Facetheory) anyway so makes no difference to me that it's recommended once you start using this regularlyI'm so chuffed with it and would recommend

Comparison with N10 Porebright
So I have been using their N10 Porebright serum for a while now I even finished the bottle which never happens with me since I like to try a lot of different things. I decided to try this BHA one as well since I have combination skin and am prone to hormonal acne. They are both formulated with salicylic acid the BHA also has green tea extract which is supposed to be soothing. Both contain aloe and humectant Sodium Hyaluronate the BHA is a creamy serum in a pump bottle and the N10 is very watery and clear in a dropper. The N10 is a niacinimide serum with salicylic acid and azelaic acid. I will say the N10 performs better for me but if I was suffering some dryness and acne flares I may go for the BHA it does have more ingedients than the N10 and seems to have more mositurizers so if you are dryer and have acne I think this would be good for you.

Lightweight serum; great at fighting acne
I'm really impressed with this serum. It's got a very lightweight body (light milky color and consistency) and comes with a convenient pump, not a dropper (like shown in the photos). I'm happy with that, because the pump is easier to use. Because it's so thin, it's rubs in very easily, and doesn't leave your face feeling sticky or tacky at all. I then layer a very lightweight moisturizer on top, and head to bed without a sticky face. After using it daily for the last 2 weeks, and I am definitely seeing results. I was interested in this product to help with my adult acne, and this has been a lot more effective than using a salicylic acid face wash, and a lot less harsh than using a salicylic acid toner. It hasn't dried out my face at all or made my skin red, and I haven't seen any new acne in the 2 weeks I've started using it.Given that the BHAs have been effective at helping to control my acne, and the product goes on my skin feeling so light, I'm very happy with this. I've tried a lot of Facetheory skincare products, but I think this one is tied for the #1 spot, and I definitely will be looking to purchase a replacement bottle when this one runs out.

Too harsh for my skin, became red and inflammed
I have really sensitive skin so I was testing to see if this would be too strong for my skin. My skin is oily combination. I'm not able to use makeup on my skin, only sensitive washes and sensitive lotions. I was trying to find something to help get rid of white heads/black heads etc. I wanted to see if this would help tighten my pores, I washed my face and applied a small amount to a cotton pad and tapped onto my skin. Immediately I felt a bit of tightness and within a few minutes saw more redness and stinging. Along the outside fo my nose and my cheeks my skin was raised, like an allergy bump which I get sometimes due to reactions to chemicals that are too strong on my skin. I washed off my face and applied a soothing lotion. I sadly won't be using this product, this is just my warning to sensitive face people. I don't blame the serum at all, i had a feeling my skin would be too sensitive.

I like this brand
I've tried a couple of items from this brand and I like them. This has nice ingredients.....salicylic acid, BHA, green tea extract. It says to use on problem areas, but I haven't really had any breakouts since I got it, so I use it 1-2 times a week as an exfoliant. It seems to clear up any small blemishes in about 2 nights. I have had no adverse reactions, it has little to no smell and it's not "tacky" on the skin. Overall I like this product and I think it is priced fairly.
