My second purchase
This is the second purchase of the exact same model. It drive 4 ceiling speakers in my kitchen and sounds fine. Volume is more than sufficient. Here in the NYC area, FM reception is good. My wife uses it mostly via bluetooth to play iheartradio. There are more than enough inputs. For me it was all rather intuitive except how to first use the FM. The unit must scan the band and then it stores the active stations. From there you can switch from one active channel to the next higher or lower. IIRC, you can enter the frequency using the remote as well. This unit replaces a rather old but working Tandy/Radio Shack stereo receiver/amp that was lacking bluetooth. This unit is easier to use by far. Well worth the price (bought it on Prime day)

Very good, you will be surprised!
It produces very good frequency range, low and high, at volumes that may be too much for many people. Good quality sound at good listening volume. FM tuner is very good too. Plays MP3s spot on. You’ll be laughing at the awesomeness!I am using some old Kenwood speakers (2) of them, 10” woofer, 4 3/8” midrange and 1 3/4” tweeter, walnut ported cabinets, 40hz to 20 kHzJan 18, still amazed and pleased!

Poor quality parts/manufacturing - died after 8 months
I was using this amplifier to power my outdoor speakers using the auxiliary in sourced from my stereo aux out. After 8 months of very occasional use, the amplifier stopped producing sound. I verified everything was correct with an alternative source and different speakers, so it seemed something was wrong with the amplifier's output stage. As it was in the 1 year warranty, I contacted Pyle support to understand the options. The email support was very responsive and indicated I could send the unit out for warranty repairs, paying shipping each way ($20 each) and if the support decided the repair was not "warrantable", pay an additional $60. So all in, $100 to repair a unit that originally cost $65 including shipping, plus wait 4-6 weeks for the repair to complete. Really not what I was looking for, and for me, was not an option.I understand that it isn't an expensive product, but failing after 8 months with maybe 80 hours of runtime is unacceptable. It really is a "pile". So buyers beware and look elsewhere to spend your money.p.s., I really did not need the Bluetooth option so I never tested it out too much, but the volume with Bluetooth was much lower, and the connectivity was only marginal - the source had to be kept close or the signal dropped. Really not much of a value add.As for the sound quality, for my purposes, it was pretty good and better than the previous solution that I had - but that one lasted over 10 years, so no complaints. Thank you Radio Shack! :-) It's just too bad it's so poorly manufactured. I like the "made in USA" angle, but not if it amounts to creating more e-waste.

selects FM stations by assigned channel numbers, not freq.
Nice sound with suitable speakers. The instructions were not laid out in a way that was easy for me to understand. It took me a while to understand the tuning of the FM radio. Once I got a handle on it, it works pretty well. Decent sensitivity. It assigns 'channel' numbers to the FM band. I wish I could select a station based on the frequency instead of a random channel number. That is why I took off a star. Otherwise a pretty good value. It's probably obvious I chose this particular amp because I need an FM radio.

Great things do come in small packages
I bought this for a unique use. An amp for speakers for a music keyboard. It did not work out as I anticipated for that use, but that’s not because of any shortcoming of the unit. I found this unit to be quality. Played fine, Volume was Loud and clear. I liked the small form factor. Smaller than a regular receiver, but with bigger sound. Cool little unit.

The advertisement states AM/FM radio but this PDA5BU unit is ONLY FM RADIO. NO AM RADIO.
It is good in that it bluetooths well, and plays FM radio well. What was disappointing is that there is NO AM radio function and there was mention of AM/FM in the advertisement. I will keep it but wish that it did have the AM function since my wife listens to AM talk radio often. Working wise, it seems pretty good.

The remote sucks, but amplifier rocks.
I use this amp to drive 2 outdoor speakers and it sounds great. The FM tuner does NOT tune any station in Stereo. Always Mono. Note in the official product photo, the Bluetooth antenna you get does not look like that one. It is a short black plastic antenna. The FM tuning up/down is nearly impossible unless you use the remote. The remote [optical remote] seems like it is generic and not tailored to match this product at all. Most of the buttons do nothing. I only use the remote to tune radio stations using the plus and minus buttons as the number pad does nothing. Your Bluetooth range is about 15 feet. Your optical remote range is a disappointing 11 feet. I use the amp at 1/4 volume for about 90 minutes and the amp gives off a perceptible amount of heat. The best part seems to be the flash drive slot. It plays songs off my flash drive in formats WMA and MP3 and WAV. It finds the files and can randomly play them no matter which folder they reside in. Nice!
