CarharttMen's Casual Belt

Strong belt, works for business casual to a suit
This was a great purchase. I bought this in lieu of buying a 5.11 belt for wearing with a pistol in a "dressed up" setting at work. I know Carhartt is not first name in tactical gear, but it made sense to me after I thought that this is a brand which is well known for making durable stuff. When it arrived, I noted it had a reasonably dressy appearance and that it fits true-to-size. After two weeks of use it show some signs of wear but this is to be expected with a holster and accessories going on and coming off. I think it will wear well overall thought because it is simply a single piece of thick leather--no seams to bust open or any obvious points of failure. When I bought this belt, I was looking for something dressy. I fully realize that this is not the ideal belt to wear with a suit--it's heavy and wide and not one of the thinner ones which are typically worn but this will work for my purposes and should be up for consideration if you are under the same constraints (need a dressy belt to wear with a suit while hooking things on your belt). That said, it will work with business casual with no problems at all.

This is a quality belt. 14 months of daily use.
Over a year of almost daily use and this belt is holding up perfectly. I looked for a quality black leather belt for a while, and ended up with many patent leather pieces of crap that separated soon after purchase. This one isn't showing signs of falling apart, the top layer isn't peeling off, no issues with the buckle, it just does what a belt should do and looks good doing it.I dress business casual at work, which means lots of khakis or dress pants. This belt is a little wide for some of the loops, but I've always managed to get it on. I usually tuck the tip of the belt into the first loop of my pants after I buckle it to keep it completely out of the way, but this second layer of belt is often too much for the already stuffed loop. I don't have an abundance of belt beyond the buckle, and the keeper does an adequate job so it isn't really a problem for me. If you get a belt far too large for your waist and need to double thru dress pant loops you would have a problem. If this belt is still available years from now when the one I bought finally fails I will buy it again without a second thought.

A Real Belt
I purchased this belt for my husband because I really liked the quality and workmanship of the women's Carhartt belts. This is a "real" belt not a fashion statement. It even if it looks great. My husband uses it for work jeans. It is a solid piece of leather with a good buckle. It has held up well in all kinds of weather under hard use. We had purchased a Dickies belt because they have a reputation for making well made products, but it was some kind of dreadful multi-layer laminated thing that delaminated and lasted only several weeks. We also purchased a Cole belt that is just a fashion belt to be worn decoratively that fell apart in weeks. This was the last belt we were going to buy on line before going back to the western ware store to get a well made belt. Cudos to Carhartt. We also purchased the Carhartt men's Journeyman belt in brown and it is terrific as well. If you want a belt that is good looking, well made and not some kind of decoration, I would highly recommend the line of Carhartt belts. Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed that Carhartt does not get taken over by the bean counters and cut their quality.

Longer than the stated size but good quality
When buying a belt online one always worries about the fit. The belt has the standard 5 holes for the buckle. I would expect that the length from the outside end of the buckle to the middle hole would match the stated length. I bought a 36 inch belt. The actual measurement from the buckle to the middle hole is 37 3/4" at the time of delivery. The 36" mark on my tape measure is closer to the last hole than any other. Like any leather product, this belt certainly will stretch so the un-stretched 36" belt is actually appropriate for a waist that measures 38" or 39" around the outside of the pants where the belt will go. I wanted to upload a photo showing these measurements, but this listing did not allow customers' photos. The buckle on the brown belt is definitely more of a polished gunmetal color than the silver shown in the listing. There is nothing with a "Satin nickel finish" on the belt although the detailed Product Description used that term, apparently referring to the buckle. And the photo in the listing suggests more rounded edges on the buckle than is the actual buckle. Other than that, the photo was accurate.I saw a review that said they received a belt that was not full grain. The one I received does appear to be true full grain and comparable to a Levis brand belt I have had for probably 20 years. The buckle is sewn on with a heavy thread similar to what a sailmaker or shoemaker would use. If the thread ever breaks due to wear it will be easy to repair. As others state, this is a herky belt, suited for casual wear and not with a business suit. Even though it was made in China, it seems to be much sturdier and better made than the meager selection found in stores in my area.I might have given it 5 stars if the length was more accurately stated. I suppose few of us really know our true waist sizes, and most clothing sizes are wildly inaccurate. Vanity sizing rules. So, if you think a size 36 belt is right for you, you probably actually are at least a couple inches more around the waist, and this might be right for you. If you measure accurately with a tailor's tape measure, be aware that these belts come long.

Carhartt Men's Foreman Belt
Carhartt's belts are top-notch quality! I haven't seen a belt this nice since I left Texas over 30 years ago. The leather is nice and thick, and the buckle design is simple but beautiful. The size of the belt was too large but that is my fault. However, it was simple enough to shorten it to a proper fit. I could have installed snaps to make the buckle interchangeable but I like it just fine so I sewed the buckle back in just like it was before the resizing. Truly thinking of ordering the same belt in black and getting the proper size now that I know what it is. If you're looking for a quality men's belt, at any price, Carhartt's is the belt to get!

Top Quality Leather Belt
This belt is absolute top quality. It is 50mm wide and 8mm thick, with a double brass prong buckle. It feels like it will last forever. The only downside is it won't fit through the belt loops on some of my shorts/trousers.Well worth £40
