Great Phone! Great Price!
You really can't find a better "Land Line" phone than this one. Fully functional features sure to please you. Included are: Ringtone Volume that can be turned off. Adjustable sound level from the handset for those who want to hear the person they're talking to a bit louder. Great for a Desk Phone like I am using. Bottom of phone includes wall mounting insets. The unit comes packed with handset and base, length of cord to plug into a wall outlet and full instructions. Is it worth the money? YES! No comparison to other phones within the price range. You'll be happy with this phone, believe me.

Not the Trimline phone I recall from years ago...
This phone, while sharing many components, and design elements of the Trimline phones of the 1980s, this is definately NOT your father's telephone. The good:The current 210 model Trimline phone keeps many of the look and feel components such as the shape, the buttons etc... of the old 1980s model, making it super easy to use. The backlighted buttons are super easy to use in any light conditions, and the modern almost piano black finish is a non intrusive addition to any modern home office, bedroom, dining room, or well wherever. Sound quality on this phone while hooked up to an Obi100 VOIP adapter (search here on Amazon for that), and Google voice as good, or better than the old POTS telephone service I recall from years ago. There are no confusing menus, or needless options on this thing. It's a one trick pony, but it does that trick quite well, with a few irritating issues. The bad:The Trimline from years ago had a weighted base, that kept it from sliding off of a table, desk, or counter when you picked it up. No such luck with this one. Likewise the hefty, solid plastics used on the old phone are a thing of the past. While this is well made, it is FAR less substantial than its predecessor. No shock, especially at this price point, but a very real disappointment. This lack of mass, especially in the base makes the phone a lot harder to keep in place when in use, and it can be annoying. I have not opened the base to see if possibly sandbags, or other means of weighting can be added, I hope so.The Trimline phone from years ago was also configured so that the base could be wall mounted, and the phone hung up vertically. Although the base does have the mounting holes for this function, I do not see how the handset could possibly stay in place in a vertical position. That really seems like a design oopsie to me... I am honestly not sure if it can or not, it just doesn't look like it. And I would like to add one of these to my garage as well...Aside from the minor quibbles with it, I would have to say I like this phone. It's very basic which is why you would buy a phone like this in the first place. I could point my 82 year old father in law to this thing and he would know exactly how to use it without a 15 minute orientation on how to make a phone call. There's no batteries to fail, no detachable handset to get lost, great sound quality, and a super low price. I call that a win / win situation!***UPDATE***On the wall mounting thing. I have stumbled upon the little nub that the handset hangs up on is able to slide up and lock into an upright position, which in my testing creates a VERY sturdy wall hung configuration. I believe I will be grabbing 3 more of these in black (for bedroom extensions) and 2 in white (kitchen and garage) and be done with my phone system. For those that want silence from the ringer, there is an off / low / high switch as well as a 3 position slider for speaker volume, and a selector switch from touch tone, to rotary pulse dialing (what systems still support rotary pulse dialing?)At this point, my only remaining issue with this phone is the lack of mass in the base. I have yet to disassemble the base on mine, but I suspect the base merely serves as a place to hang up the phone and does not provide any real electronic function. If I am correct. I will likely add some sort of ballast (epoxy and lead sinkers?) Other than that I am using the snot out of this phone, and my Obi100 VoIP adapter. (See my review of the Obi100, or the several thousand others on that thing. Awesome. Most of the issues folks have seem to be problems with Google Voice configuration... but if they bothered to watch the setup videos from Obi they would be okay...)

11 reasons why I love this phone
What I wanted1. Land-line. Living in rural Hawaii, I need both a cellular and a land-line for maximum reliability2. Long cords so I can walk & talk without having to buy extra extensions. This came with 7' of line3. Bigger keys on the keypad4. Touch-tone capable as well as pulse5. Receiver not too heavy6. Good loud ring-tone with softer options7. Really loud option for incoming voices also with softer settings8. Clear sending & receiving, no burbles or static9. Sit flat on night-table10. Simple operation11. Inexpensive: I dislike paying for unneeded optionsThe AT&T 210 is all of this and more. In addition to my essential eleven qualities, the phone offers other features:12. Lighted numbers13. Mute option14. Up to ten fast dial numbers15 Plus fast dial icons for medical, fire, and police (nice safety feature)16 Wall install (flip an insert to keep receiver in cradle for wall mount)17 Instructions are detailed and written in clear correct English18 Design is simple, attractive, nice black finish that looks new after use. Size is 9" long, 4" tall, and 3 l/2 " wide.19 The AT&T help number connects to AT&T customer service and works. I checked this out when I got the phone & just checked again.ANY USER ALERTS?* This is a simple, basic phone, not a full-featured phone that will fold the laundry and do conference calls.* Be careful! The instructions state the phone will not function well if other phones are hooked up on the same land-line. Reviewers who found the sound wasn't the best may have been using multiple phones on their land-line. If you want multiple phones and excellent sound on all, this may not be the top choice for your needs.* The base is light-weight which would not be a big issue for a wall-mount but think about location* Not actually an AT&T product made in USA. The phone is a product of a company called Advanced American Telephones licensed by AT&T to use the logo and name. The phone is manufactured in China and the customer service is by Advanced American telephones. I do not know if this could be a future issue re service or not.For what I wanted, I love this phone! This may not be for the best phone for every user's needs but it works for me: the price is right (under $10 for me including shipping), the performance good and the features are fine.
