It is good, but with an issue and overpriced.
First of all, this is a decently made colander. The riveted handles are a nice touch, making the handles more secure than most. However, it suffers from a design flaw that it shares with most others that have a ring base. Namely, if you stick this over your drain in your sink, it may seal enough around it that your sink will start to fill with water, and as your sink fills above the height of the ring, it will drain through your colander, contaminating your food. Or, if instead of sticking it over your drain, you have it just on the bottom of your sink, it may seal well enough that the center fills with water and does not drain your food properly (and also contaminate the food if the sink isn't perfectly clean). There are two ways that this could be fixed: First, it could have feet instead of a ring for the base. Or, they could have drilled holes in the ring so that water could not be trapped as described above.Additionally, even at the supposedly heavily discounted price that I paid for this, I could have gotten a larger stainless steel colander locally at Bed, Bath, and Beyond that would have been less money AND not have suffered from the design flaw, as it has feet instead of a ring base, so no water can be trapped as can be the case with this one. Frankly, I wish I had checked locally before ordering this one. But this one is good enough that it isn't worth returning it.So, this is just a 3 star colander, not something great. If they had just put holes in the ring base, it would raise this at least a star, but it does not deserve any special praise beyond being sturdier than most. And at the price they say this is worth, there is no excuse for the bad design.

A Very Good Value For A Busy Cook
I bought the Raishi Stainless Steel Colander after carefully looking at what seemed like 100 different types of colanders: plastic, enameled, steel, deep, shallow and so forth. I decided on the Raishi for a couple of reasons. It had a deeper bowl, which would allow me to drain larger amounts of pasta and rinse a lot of produce and it was stainless steel which I thought would stand the test of time. I've used it several times after owning it for several weeks. I like the size. I like that it drains quickly. I like the rolled metal on the bottom so it doesn't scratch my sink. I like the size and comfort of the handles and I like the design of the drain holes. Who would think one could be so appreciative of the various features of a colander? Well, I do a ton of cooking and use a colander almost every night of the week. It's a workhorse in my kitchen and I'm fussy about the items I use. This colander seems well made: heavy enough, yet not too heavy. I really like it and I feel certain it will last for many years.

the colander is great; it's good size without being too wide
So far, the colander is great; it's good size without being too wide, and seems to be of quality construction. We replaced our previous colander because it had three "feet" that were simply spot-welded to the bottom; one of the welds failed and a foot fell off. This doesn't seem likely to happen with this one, since the bottom is a one-piece foot. The handles are also securely fastened rather than spot welded. It's nice and shiny and I like the tall, narrower design. My only concern is the top edge; rather than a rolled edge, the top edge is just cut metal, and it's a little bit sharp. Not enough to cut, but you definitely feel it if you grab the colander by the edge. If Raishi is looking for actionable feedback, they may want to consider either rolling the edge or other options (I'm not a metalworker) to smooth that edge. I suspect over time it will wear down, and I consider this a very minor issue. I'm happy with the colander, and have already looked at Raishi's other products to see if there is anything I can use.

WoW!! THIS Colander Is That Good!!
WoW!!! This simple Raishi Colander Raishi Stainless Steel Colander for Easy Cleaning - 5 Quart High Grade Guaranteed. Best Metal Colander. is waaaay beyond all expectation. The wife and I are stunned to see such exemplary craftsmanship in this colander. Shiny stainless-steel of substantial durability much greater than a finer mesh of lesser materials would be. The handles are industrially riveted on and there is a stainless-steel ring on bottom to elevate the colander from the drained liquid. Not just little insignificant feet. Our other colander got away to kids but they needed something setting up new housekeeping. This colander is taller by a little than many others of this capacity. Perfect for draining pasta. Easy to clean and store. The width of many others takes up cabinet space unnecessarily. This one doesn't. Pictures are one thing but to have this one in hand the owner will be positively impressed. We are. And a 2-Year Warranty is included. Thanks to Raishi for getting it right and Amazon for getting it here undamaged.

I’ve had it for 4 years now. It still looks like new!
I love it. I’ve had it for 4 years now. The handles are still tight. It’s fine going through our dishwasher. It holds enough for our family of 6. This is the one.

The Last Colander You'll Need To Buy
Hands down the best colander you can buy on here, and really; for a few dollars more (other ones are $15-18) this one blows them out of the water...1) Stainless steel - not plastic, won't rust. No need to worry about plastic leeching, etc.2) Great construction, this thing is a tank. The handles will not come off unless you take a plasma cutter to them, or some bolt cutters. Base is nice and sturdy, I don't see it tipping over unless you're trying to do some crazy yoga move on it.3) Well designed. Its not overly big or deep but kinda like just Goldilocks right. I like it because it doesn't take up a lot of space (being too wide), still fits in the sink and on the counter. If I ever need a second colander, and I might - one for pasta, one for salad, etc. I'd just get another one of these.

Overall pretty good. It is pretty big
Overall pretty good. It is pretty big, maybe a wee bit big for me - batchelor boy; but will be good for washing kurly kale, lettuce leaves, pak choy; and all those carbs that need draining. Good in the summer for washing all those Mary berries. I like the design and shape: more upwards and taller than short and broad. So plenty of depth. So well done to its creator. No real regrets. Good for families and would cope easily with a large cauliflower. Received a positive email from supplier saying I will contact you soon to see how I am getting along with it - nice touch. Good thank you.

Robust and really good size
I'm very pleased with the colander. I had another stainless steel colander for years which was a different design - no standing feet and a long handle. Eventually the handle broke off, which is why I needed a new colander. The new one is a better design than the old one as it can stand on its own on the draining board and it's easier to store as it doesn't have an awkward long handle. I prefer stainless steel as I feel it's more robust than some other materials - better for draining hot foods like pasta. The colander is a really good size, with plenty of room for draining a pan of spaghetti or for cleaning a big lettuce. That's what I was looking for and I am not disappointed.

I am happy to say I am delighted with the colander
I am happy to say I am delighted with the colander, it oozes quality and it’s also very attractive to look at! I’m sure it will last a very long time and has pride of place in my cupboard, it replaced a cheap and nasty plastic one that I had but I’m trying to reduce my use of plastic goods generally so thought this one fits the bill.I also got a personal message from the co-founder of the company asking if I was satisfied, you can't say that with big companies can you? A nice personal touch which is missing from consumer purchases these day. If you're in the market for a new colander give this one a go, I promise you won't regret it.

High Quality Colander
Delivered promptly and in top condition. I have now used my colander several times and am impressed. It is sturdy and well balanced. It looks good enough to use to serve food at the table. It has been used numerous times and been through the dishwasher several times and still looks new. I'm very impressed with the quality. I'd recommend it. Have also noticed that it comes with a 2 year guarantee - this is a sign of a company who stands behind their products. Well done!!

Quality Colander at a great price
Ordered one, and was so impressed with it, I immediately ordered a second one. Yes it can have issues with draining through the bottom, but just sit it half over the plug hole and this is no problem at all. Looks fantastic, is solidly made, and should see years of service in my kitchen.
