They work
We just went through hurricane Milton here in Central Florida. I am a 68 year old woman and hauling around sandbags is out of the question. I activated these before the storm. It took some work to evenly distribute the moisture absorbing material but well worth it. I placed them against our garage door and two exterior entrance doors and we had no water to enter our home. I recommend them!

Super convenient to store when dry, modest sandbagging capability
These are perfect if you are anticipating a rain storm or flooding, but don't want to keep around real sand bags because of the space they take up and the potential mold/health issues with just keeping sand around. These are silica based and are completely flat until they take up water. Super easy to store in the shed if and when you need them. As per instructions, they take some time to activate in water, and are a little lumpy and soggy but seem to do the trick of keeping out 85% of the water. It's not the best until you start stacking them and adding weight, at which point it may become cost prohibitive. But we bought a few sets of these and stored them just in case we needed them...and one season we did. It was super convenient to not have to go to a local center to fill sandbags and to instead just lay these out and watch them balloon up. However, they aren't perfect at diverting water--some will get around the edges as it is less malleable than real sand bags. But they make up for it in convenience factor.

Does the job!
Great product and works as advertised, stores well in dry months and beats sand bag use.

Not very full and oozes gel everywhere.
I don’t have a kid pool or large enough bucket to wet these,so I hose down and kept flipping. They inflated enough for keeping water from getting into my catio because my lawn is above my concrete. I wouldn’t trust this to keep water out of a house or basement situation. Gel oozed out of any one of them. But it’s working for my needs as we don’t get much rain in Northern California compared to other states.

Work well, but don't drive over them
We have a driveway just outside our garage door that shifted slightly over the years. Now it slopes ever so slightly into our garage. When it rains heavily, water seeps into the garage. We successfully used these to keep water out until we get a permanent fix. Work well, until a car drove out and bust the bag! We were able to use electrical tape to bind the hole, but take this as a cautionary tale.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
After experiencing massive flooding in our area our basement filled with 1 ft. of water. We needed a way to shore up the wall around our outside stairs that enter the basement, so we might avoid water running over the wall and stairs next time. We are 70 so liked the idea of a lightweight bag AND REUSABLE. While we were able to manage the weight of bags both dry and wet, I would not say they were the answer to our dreams. The material inside all slides to one end so you have to put them in place, wet them and then try to move the wet material evenly the length of the bag - impossible. Plus once wet they are only 2-3 inches high. We stacked several, but no two fill the same way when you do it by hand. They did seem to make a difference but a VERY expensive alternative to regular sandbags. In addition it seems impossible to dry them out. Ours were lying on the driveway for 6 weeks and still not dry. AND they get slimy. You won't want to pick them up bare handed. If we store them damp/wet in plastic tubs I am sure they will mold. GOTTA BE A BETTER WAY. For twice what we paid for these slimey bags we paid a mason to permanently raise our wall 10 inches.
