This duet is absolutely fabulous. Talia and Kostas are made for each other even if their marriage was arranged by his father as punishment to Talia's father. I’ve read books by these two authors separately but never one of theirs together. There’s no other way to describe this except as a super dark and super twisted romance- if you’ve read K. Webster, you will definitely know the spectrum of “darkness” in this- it contains potentially triggering content like kidnapping, forced relationship, dubious consent, r@pe, sexual harassment, torture, murder etc. It is a brutally violent book, graphic in the way all these issues are explicitly dealt with on the page. About halfway through the first book, there’s a MASSIVE plot twist that almost made me DNF this. I had to think about whether I wanted to continue because of how the plot twist was handled. I debated within myself whether it was being triggeringly gratuitous for dramatic effect and thus exploiting the reader in some way around a sensitive issue. In the end, I decided to continue and I’m so glad I did. I couldn’t put this down. This story of Talia, a college student who’s sold by her father to a Greek mafia boss to pay off his debt. There Talia meets Kostas who is cold and unfeeling and she falls in hate with him, upset at the rest of her family who’s helpless to rescue her. As she rails against her dysfunctional family, the cracks are forming in Kostas’ family structure- cracks that could destroy them all.I think where this book succeeded was jn executing a super dark romance. The relationship between Kostas and Talia was in its way sweet, sexy and rooted in “problematicness.” This not a book that is particularly to my usual taste, but the authors delivered something that was immensely compelling and took you on a journey. I suppose some of the conflicts were too easily solved or to repetitively dragged out for me. For the former, at times I felt like characters weren’t given time and space to heal after traumatic events and in that ways, this seemed unrealistic. With the latter, I found the search for the big bad a little dragging and repetitive and mirroring of an earlier subplot within the book. Nonetheless, I overall quite liked this, much to my surprise. I’m not entirely comfortable with it’s handling of certain themes, but it was for me an unputdownable read.

I'm going to start by admitting that I don't like duets and mafia romance is a hit or miss for me. That's why I was reluctant to read this story. But it was so highly recommend, that I felt the need to give it a try. Best decision ever ! Not even once did I felt like the story was dragging, the writing style is amazing, the balance between romance and thrill is perfect. The chemistry and attraction between Kostas and Talia is believable. The best part was that while I suspected that some characters are not what we were led to believe, the suspense of not knowing what's happening next was real , because it always took a turn I didn't see coming. I loved the characters development, they stayed true to themselves from start to beginning, Kostas didn't chance for Talia's sake . She loved him, despite seeing his worst traits. She wasn't the weak damsel in distress, needing her husband to save her.

I love how bada** our leads are. Seeing Talia grow throughout the duet was awesome. There is tons of action, lots of smexy time - but beware - there could be some of the heart wrenching situations that could be triggers for people. Overall really enjoyed reading this crazy action packed duet!

This book started out great but part 2 dragged on and on.. still good and I’d recommend to anyone who enjoys this trope!!

Hidden TruthsI like the energy of Talia and Kostas as a couple, but individually I want to punch them. It works for them, and it's really hot when it works. I feel like there are a lot of things going on that we don't know about and that cliffhanger certainly cements that thought. Need to jump into the next book!Stolen LiesIt was a great ending to the duet and I love how bloodthirsty Talia was. She really seemed to embrace the lifestyle of her new husband. We got a lot of explanation and lots of answers. I also don't know how Kostas thought his dad had been loyal all the time? But we all have our delusions...I thought the story was great but it seemed to run too long. I think some of the first book and a lot of the second book could have been cut and made into one story. The hunt for Aris was really drawn out.

Who knew monsters could be so hot. Loving this story. Not only does it depict Greece beautifully and make me want to book a ticket now. The authors make a character that seemed truly heartless and a monster have a transformation into wonderful and caring person, just a little dark.The passion between the characters was hot. You will love the story and all the twists and turns. Definitely a must read.Another amazing book for these ladies.

This is the first review I've left on a book. This book had me pulled in all the directions, all while keeping me on my toes. The suspense was thrilling, never knowing what was going to happen next! It was spicy and dark. I absolutely loved the chemistry between the main characters. I'd recommend this book to anyone!

Read a few reviews before hand saying people DNF but I have read the duet in just over 24 hours! I love the dark mafia H and the character building of the young innocent H there are some potential trigger if you have any (which I have yet to find out) and I felt the one incident despite traumatic to the H was pretty glossed over and could have been a little deeper but that’s all I have to say on that matter. I need Phoenix’s story now! Pretty please

this book was based in the most beautiful place ever, with an even more gorgeous mmc 👀. this book definitely had me on the edge of my seat with unsuspected villains and a big plot twist that kept me roped into the book the entire time! i DEVOURED this book and i highly recommend it!! 5⭐️ and 3.5🌶 * definitely check trigger warnings *

What an absolute whirlwind of emotions oh my word this book is amazing the story is gripping and I couldn’t put it down can’t wait to read more
