Vostok company story starts back in 1942, when one of the Moscow watch-making plants has been evacuated from Moscow to a little town Chistopol located on the Kama River. Defense equipment was the only company output during war years, but as soon as the war was over Vostok started to make mechanical wrist watches - the main production item ever since. In 1965 Vostok company was appointed an official supplier of watches for the Defense Department of the Soviet Union. This year marks the creation of the world-famous "Komandirskie" ("Commander") watch. Military watch grew very popular even with people who were unaware which end of the gun bullet comes off, mainly due to high precision, excessive reliability and durability. The appearance of the watch also contributes to its appeal - functional and clear-cut design invoked the feeling of belonging to the tough world of combat professional. The experience which Vostok gained through development of the army watch was the foundation of our next special watch - "Amphibian". This impressive timepiece in stainless-steel case endured the depth of 2000 meters - kind of a wrist submarine. Success of the professional watches determined the company's present philosophy - to create mechanical watches maintaining precise timekeeping at any temperature, in any environment, surviving heavy pressure and blows. The viability of the chosen strategy is now time-proven. A vast multitude of people both in Russia and abroad boasting "Vostok" watches and various international prizes awarded for high quality and commercial success testify to this. In 1996 Vostok started a partnership with US "Capital Trading" company aiming to create a new generation timepiece. Assembled for sales in the US by Sputnik TM technology

Still working and I couldn't be happier
I can not find anything wrong with this watch. So I am one of those people who's body sucks the battery dead on a watch within a few days. I have bought a ton of watches that work on batteries and they die within a week or so. I been looking for a while for a self winding watch, manual winding or solar watch and could not find one I either liked the look of or didn't cost to much.I found this one and with what I consider a reasonable price for a watch that will last, I decided to get it and hope it works. After almost 2 months the thing is still working for me and it doesn't lose time so far, I do wined it every morning about 10-15 turns. The band is adjustable so it should fit most people. The bezel actually moves and is usable, however I have not went scuba diving with it yet, it has survived showers and washing dishes. I like the look of it and it's comfortable.Well worth the purchase and the cost. It does take a while to ship it took 3 weeks and 6 days from order to delivery for me, so be aware of that.

Incredible value!
I am thoroughly impressed with my Vostok watch. The shipping time was much faster than I expected, it was packaged well, and my communication with the seller was excellent. I am very impressed with the accuracy of the timekeeping, compared with my Seiko quartz. I have looked at many more expensive watches in shops and the quality of the Vostok matches anything I’ve seen. The bracelet generally gets poor reviews but I have found it very comfortable for daily wear when adjusted appropriately. I have already ordered another one from the same seller to give as a gift.

Craftsmanship on time piece is amazing
When I opened my package and saw the plastic box it was in I said to myself well I just paid 100 dollars for a cheap watch. Then I opened the box and was taken aback this watch is very well made and is worth every dollar spent. I will be purchasing more from you in the future, beautiful time piece that is automatic and does not rely on a battery thank you I am very happy

Russian! But not so accurate.
Of the three Восток watches I now own, this is the only one whose timekeeping has not impressed me, so I don’t wear it often...because why grab a watch out of the winder that I have to set when there are two right next to it that I don’t?I wonder if the fact that this is the only one of the three with a date display has something to do with its relative inaccuracy.

Cool Divers Watch!
The Vostok Amphibia is a cool, quirky divers watch. Of my entire watch collection (16) the Amphibia grabs the most attention. It's just really a fun watch to wear!

Be selective of your bracelet and pick a color you like.
Beautiful (to me) solid and durable watch! Get the link (chain mail) bracelet (if you like a metal bracelet) over the stock link one. Where else are you going to get a 200 meter mechanical dive watch for under $100? I think the “scuba dude” looks pretty cool and very retro in a 1960’s type style.

Get one. They are rugged and cheap.
Great Russian made watch. The only complaint I might have is that if you dont manually rotate it, the energy last for about 24 hours and not 31 hours. Other than this, it's a great piece to get.
