Don't knock cork until you try it
I wanted a nice clean surface since I bought a record washing system, so that my vinyl wouldn't pick up dirt off of the OEM mat. The design and similar dampening to felt drew me to cork, despite many "expert opinions" on how much static it builds. Cork does not build static chargesThe look and feel is superior to the felt mat, and the sound is just a little cleaner. I tried an acrylic mat, and didn't like how toned down it made the music feel, although mostly in the low end while enhancing the high end, making the music feel off balance. Cork (and probably rubber, since it's a similar density material) seems like a nice dampener for the turntable without changing the music too much from what I feel like it should sound like. This brand is attractive, and I think it feels well made, although it's my first cork mat. I expect with a bit of care this mat will last a while on the turntable and be fairly easy to care for.

Decent cork mat with a cool design. Not bad. Works well for my specific setup.
I've only used this mat a handful of times as the only mat on my table's platter and just like my previous experience with cork over the years, the additional static build-up is noticeably worse. It's fine when the humidity is higher in the house for the most part but I've noticed as soon as it drops below around 50% the static becomes awful, even more than standard rubber mats which never ceases to amaze. Beyond that, it's quite thick at 4mm and generally well made. The design is nice.I kept this mat as a cosmetic piece only - it sits beneath an acrylic platter mat (as shown in the "orange" photos) that I bought from another vendor. The acrylic mat *absolutely* helps control static, far and beyond either the rubber or cork mats I've had. It's night and day. I highly recommend this combo and only use the cork because I was tired of seeing the holes in the actual platter through the acrylic mat (as well as a manufacturers sticker I've yet to peel off). ONE LARGE CAVEAT HOWEVER: my setup will really only work if using it on a table that allows for VTA adjustment (adjustment of tonearm height). With the 4mm thickness of Taz Studio cork mat combined with the 3mm thickness of the acrylic mat I'm basically maxed on my VTA adjustment for my current cartridge and can't get anything taller than I currently have (an LP Gear "The Vessel" cart). Other than that, I'm super happy with this combination. The cork-rubber mat also has the added benefit of not allow the acrylic one to slip nearly as much on the metal platter like it can sometimes do when used alone. (It only does this while brushing a record with a little extra pressure and isn't a big deal - the cork mat beneath it and an added record weight solves the issue completely).

I can now play my worped record and it doesn’t skip like it did with my rubber mat
Very impressed, definitely sounds better than my rubber mat. I have one worped record and it skips with the rubber mat, but doesn’t skip at all with the cork mat, it definitely cuts down on vibration from a worped record, get one will not disappoint and has a bunch of cool pictures to choose from.

Great looking plattermat
I cant speak to a difference in sound quality, but the design looks absolutely amazing. It was a bit too bright for my tastes, but after putting an acrylic plattermat on top (and adjusting the vertical height of the tonearm), it looks amazingThe mat is nice and thick, and will be browsing other designs for my other turntables!EDIT:After a year and a half, the mat still looks like new. I have noticed a dramatic reduction in static, and bass does seem a little clearer with it. I would say this is a solid upgrade if you either have static issues, or a direct drive turntable. It does help! Just make sure your tone arm sits level and your spindle is tall enough, this mat is thick! (Was a bit too thick to use on my oneby1, but fits well on my at1240 and id imagine on a at 120)

Worth it!!! 🙏🏻
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️First thing I noticed is it leveled my tone arm due to the thickness, so it’s all around healthier for the needle and takes general stress off. My new turntable has been very good and vinyl that used to skip on my previous turntable don’t skip on my Audio-technical (AT-LP120XBT), but there was one vinyl that would get stuck in a loop. BUT I put the vinyl on this cork slip mat and it didn’t get stuck in the usual loop. Vinyl now plays all the way through and I can finally enjoy it - hallelujah 🙏🏻 truly does improve playing performance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Does it’s job...I think
Bought this because I wanted to simply upgrade the felt slip that came with the Audio Technica. Not to “eliminate static” or cause it would improve quality. Just didn’t want to keep the factory slip mat. The first few plays I could literally hear the crackle of static whenever I removed a record and figured the item was trash but I was also standing in my carpeted office with socks on. Recently I haven’t heard or felt the static. Reason? Who knows?Sound quality-GREAT! But did I tape record the sound before I replaced the felt mat. Well, no. So maybe it’s a bias in my head? But at least it looks pretty damn cool. And it wasn’t expensive.

Looks great
No static. Which was the main reason for buying it. Might be a bit too expensive for what you get but whatever, looks great!

Bon produit
