Stops those biting horse flies!
If you love the outdoors then this is an essential item to have with you. I seem to be a magnet for those horrible biting horse flies. And when they bite it's really painful. The last few years it seems to have got worse and as a fisherman it was spoiling my enjoyment of fishing and just being outdoors. Getting bitten several times on a day out was terrible and putting me off wanting to go out. This product was a game changer for me as once applied, no more bites! Plus the horse flies stay away. This product is also long lasting which is great. Highly recommended.

Brilliant stuff - give it a try! Worked better than DEET for me.
I'm someone who mosquitoes absolutely love! It's been very problematic on holidays to hot climates, including once having to have steroid treatment for bites I got in Florida. I've been using DEET-containing repellents for a while but have never been very keen on it because of the smell and finding it quite greasy to use - plus it's never been that successful for me. This time I was going to be in the southern US for 6 weeks so decided to do some research on potentially better solutions. Having read quite a bit about repellents this led me to giving Autan a try. It has picaridin (20%) as the active ingredient rather than DEET. And having tried it I have to say I am hugely impressed with the results. In 6 weeks of using a picaridin repellent every day I got a grand total of only three bites on the entire trip. And that's spending time in TX, TN and GA in September/October. What was very insightful was that my wife, who the mosquitoes usually ignore and therefore she doesn't bother with repellent, managed to pick up quite a number of bites in the early days of our trip whereas I was completely bite-free. That encouraged her to start using it too with the same positive effect, with far fewer bites for the rest of the trip. I found the Autan spray to be easy to apply - it has a pleasant smell, was absorbed quickly and was not greasy. I think it is recommended to reapply every 8 hours, but to be honest it was very rare that I reapplied it and it was effective all day. One bottle lasted us around 3 weeks of everyday use. Alas, when we ran out we couldn't easy find it in the US but bought another S.C. Johnson product called OFF! (another with 20% picaridin) as an alternative and it was just as effective. As a couple of extra tips to anyone else mosquito-affected like me - I didn't wear any aftershave for the entire trip just to avoid scents that any bitey-things might find attractive. Also, I took an over-the-counter antihistamine (cetirizine hydrochloride) every day to minimise the reaction to any bites I did get. Obviously do your own research/get medical advice to make sure this is ok for you. So there you have it - sorry for the long review - but this has been a game-changer for me. None of the drawbacks of DEET (smell, greasiness, can damage plastics) and something that is pleasant smelling and gave me a lot of peace of mind when going out. Give it a try - I hope you get the same results!

Excellent Protection Without the Harsh Chemicals
Excellent Protection Without the Harsh Chemicals I purchased the Autan Mosquito & Insect Repellent Pump Spray (100 ml) for a recent family trip, and I’m thoroughly impressed with how well it performs. Effectiveness: We used it in the evenings near wooded areas and by lakes where mosquitoes are usually relentless. The spray provided consistent protection for several hours—I’d say close to the advertised 8 hours—without the need for constant reapplication. Even biting flies, which normally don’t give up easily, kept their distance. Formula & Safety: One of the best aspects is that it’s DEET-free. This was important to me since I wanted something gentle enough for kids to use, but still strong enough to keep insects away. I liked that the formula didn’t feel sticky or greasy on the skin. It absorbed quickly and left no noticeable residue. The fragrance is light and much less harsh compared to many other repellents I’ve tried. Convenience & Travel-Friendly: The 100 ml size is perfect for travel—it fit easily into our bags, and the pump spray works smoothly without clogging. The bottle is sturdy enough to carry around without worrying about leaks. Family-Friendly: Because it’s suitable for children, I felt confident applying it to my kids without worrying about exposure to strong chemicals. They didn’t complain about the smell or texture, which is a win! Overall Impression: This spray strikes the right balance between being effective, gentle, and convenient. If you’re looking for a reliable insect repellent that the whole family can use, especially during travel, I highly recommend it. It’s now a must-have in our summer and holiday essentials kit.

Better smelling than deet but still effective
I rely on this as deet smells absolutely terrible. The smell of this is fine and it keeps the bugs away, although you need to be fastidious with your application.

Super Mossie repellent.
This works well against mosquitoes and is less irritating (to me) than the deet repellents. It is also less likely to affect plastics - such as some watches!
