Making Challah rises to an art form with this book
I have been baking challah for about 28 years and for the past 10 years I have referred to this book for creative, clever ideas to step up the game with my dough. Directions are written and illustrated clearly. Beautiful photography. I recommend this book for beginners and advanced challah bakers alike

WIFE'S REQUEST
She borrowed from a friend to start making her own challa.A couple of weeks afterwards she really made an effort and managed to bake an amazing challa for our Shabbos. Thanks for her persistence and, in my opinion, also this book.Really well edited, with a lot of images and rich explanations. The only problem is the metric system, which, for us in Brazil is totally different.

Great challah baking book
This was a gift for my wife and she loved it. Although she is a very experienced challah baker, this book had a lot of tips and ideas that were new. I think that she told me that this book really uses only one basic challah recipe which is a good one, but go to the author's web site and you will get a lot more that are not in her book. Highly recommended. To learn more about challah baking, and to hear shiurim on other womens' topics check out listenandlearntorah.com.

I am using this product a lot to try different braiding techniques for challahs. There are many wonderful other recipes that are in the book that I look forward to trying.

Does Not Include Egg Challah Recipe
The book arrived well packaged - a mailing package within a box... and came with a complimentary face shield, for some reason. Anyway. As for the book itself, there is no egg challah recipe, only water challah, which was a real disappointment. The recipes are huge -- the smallest challah recipe had 9 cups of flour, I think. There are some good baking tips for beginner bakers, and there are several stories interspersed about the sacred value of challah making. There is a large section in the end about the strict halakhic rules for challah making with a bracha.Overall it's a dated book that could use some editing, is a quick read good for beginners who need a lot of visual help with braiding methods or want to try Middle Eastern bread recipes, and is maybe better for a more conservative reader who might value that particular perspective of the author's stories. I would not recommend this for an advanced challah baker who is looking for more of a deep-dive into challah specifically. This book did not meet my needs for improving my egg challah.~ S.

perfect challah, indeed...
instructions, which can be followed with ease, great results, that's exactely what I expect. How to braid the dough, however, is not as clearcut as how to prepare and bake it.If you want to bake great tasting challah or other breads like sourdough (the pizza dough is really tasty too) this is the book of your choice!
