This product is made to be installed on handlebars with a 31.8 mm tube diameter. My handlebars are the other type, 25.4 mm, so they will not fit. However, there are shim products available specifically for the purpose of installing handlebars into handlebar stems that are the larger size. I decided to try to use those shims to install these aero bars and it worked. If you try to do this, you might find that you have to splay and offset the shims as shown in the photo. Also, you will save yourself a lot of hassle with the installation if you invert the bike, balance it on the saddle at a 45-degree angle, and lean the bike against a wall (see photo). This product is difficult to install and you will be dropping stuff all over the place. The screws provided tighten into anchors that can fall out of their housing and onto the floor and roll away very easily. Once installed these bars provide a very good aerodynamic posture for the rider. I had bars on my bike previously, but they had a 3" elevation to them, and I noticed when looking at a photo that I don't get my head down sufficiently in the aero position. After installing these bars I notice a great improvement in my aero position. They are also quite comfortable and lightweight. I bought some adjustable end plugs for decorative effect (see photo), as this product does not include plugs. After reading other reviews, I learned that non-adjustable plugs will not fit. The open end is provided to allow for gear shifters to be installed on the aero bars, which is a nice added feature. I would not try to install these bars on a 25.4 mm tube diameter handlebar without the shims. I tried to do it using a makeshift approach using some rubber material and tape, and although I was able to get the bars installed securely, they simply did not feel like they were firmly as tight as they should have been, and I was able to move them with a modest amount of force. Now that the shims are in place, the metal-to-metal clamping action provides a completely secure attachment. These are really not bad for less than $50. You will need a metric Allen-key set and some patience if you want to install these on a 25.4 mm handlebar. I can't provide any feedback for installation on a 31.8 mm tube diameter handlebar, sorry.

Very nice looking aerobars but one of the bars broke before I could even try riding with them (fortunately). During installation, the bar cracked just in front of the mounting bracket in the same location where one of the other reviewer's bar broke. There is a shift cable hole in this location that appears to be a stress point. I'm returning them as I don't feel I can trust the quality of the layup.

I bought several aero bars and compared them. These won hands-down. They are light, look great and they're comfortable. I found that they fit tightly on my road bike bars if I wrapped a piece of electrical tape on the the main bars first, then mounted the aero bars. I also played with the distance between the aero bars a bit, as they are not adjustable. Once fit, they make my rides faster and more comfortable. These do not come with end plugs, as they are made for adding end shifters. I bought some nice adjustable blue aluminum end plugs that look really good with the aero bars (I found that non-adjustable plugs did not fit).

They are what they say they are, if these bars fit your application then they are Great! They weigh less than half what bars that are more adjustable weigh. The reason for the 4 stars are the pads. The material was loose and they just didn't match the quality of the rest of the product, almost seem like an after thought. Keep in mind that they do not adjust so if you can't make the rest of your rig fit then they won't help. If they are the right dimensions for you then they will save you a lot of unwanted weight.

You get what you pay for. This could have been a good product if it included a couple of things like adjust grips where it screws onto the bars. Trying to put the bars on was so difficult in almost gave up half way through. Theres little moving parts that the screws bolt into that need to be lined up so precisely it's frustrating. And even after finally managing to like up all the tiny parts correctly, screwed tonthebtightest position, the clamps are to big. After discovering how big they were, the cheap screws immediately so they are permanent aero bars on my bike nice I hate this. I'm having a terrible time. I hate this product.
