Simple Mills Almond Flour Toasted Pecan Cookies, Gluten Free and Delicious Crunchy Cookies, Organic Coconut Oil, Good for Snacks (Packaging May Vary)

Crunchy almond and pecan flavor cookies go great with my coffee. I love that it’s not loaded with any extra additives. It’s clean ingredients that taste sooo good.

Subtle at first, not as sugary as we're used to; maybe even a bit less textured; but then.... you fall in love and you are hooked! They release their flavor and moisture slowly and you can savor them longer. They are now a staple of my diet. I am hypoglycemic and these have just the right amount or kind of sugar to stabilize glucose level but not spike-and-drop. Maybe because the sugar is coconut. Only a few of mine ever arrive broken. Which is OK, I wasn't going to make a sandwich of them anyway. (Is it true broken cookies have less calories?) I'd eat these all the time even if I weren't celiac. They even substitute for chocolate cravings!

These arrived alone in a paper bag shipper rather than a shipping box, so I opened it with great apprehension. The thin cardboard outer product box was slightly crushed. But upon opening the inner foil bag, amazingly I found only a few broken cookies where I was expecting crumbs only suitable for making a pie crust! Even so, I think that was more a lucky break, seeing how some packages are handled in transit. I have these on auto-ship, so we'll see how the next box fares... The cookies themselves are crunchy, small, have a nice toasty pecan flavor, and the slight tangy aftertaste of non-sugar sweeteners (these use coconut sugar.) Not as yummy as cane sugar, but good enough to satisfy a sweets craving without the blood sugar spike or other unpleasant side effects. I discovered this brand (they make GF crackers too) while on a strict anti-inflammatory diet, and kept their cookies in my rotation because they are good enough to keep me away from the wheat flour white sugar ones. Great to nibble on with a hot cup of tea or coffee.

Crunchy, great taste, not too sweet and best of all, no wheat or gluten to start my allergies. Simple tasty cookie!

So I didn’t feel like baking and took a shortcut by ordering these cookies. IMO and based on my personal knowledge of baking (and eating) almond shortbread cookies these fail miserably in taste, texture and overall. They were very dry and crumbly. Had an odd flavor and finished with unexpected heat which was odd. Maybe I just got a bad batch – I don’t know. I gave it a three star because other people seem to like them.

I can't understand how these cookies have gotten such good reviews. They are bland as can be! There is no almond flavor from the almond flour they're made with and "toasted pecan"??, there might be tiny pecan pieces in there, but you sure can't taste them. It is a tiny bag of bite-size cookies, ridiculously priced. And dry, dry, dry, so much so that if you don't have something to wash them down with, you might choke to death on them. I thought maybe they were expired, but upon checking the date, that is not the case. They also have a slight bitter aftertaste, after the blandness, that is. This is the second Simple Mills product I have tried and been thoroughly disappointed in, there will not be a third. The generous 4 stars for freshness was only because they were not expired. I would have given them 0 stars for flavor and portion if I'd been able to do so.

I bought these as a low-sugar, gluten-free snack for tea time. The cookies are crunchy with a real toasted-pecan flavor and satisfy the craving. But the inner tray is thin—several arrived cracked. Better cushioning/seal would make this perfect.
