BRNO baLens BAL58 58mm White Balance Snap-on Lens Cap with Neutral and Warm Domes

This product will not work well in dim lighting, due to a small amount of light making it through the white hemisphere. But in moderate light this product works surprisingly well, and the construction is very good (not a cheap lens cap). Overall this will add about 3/4 of an inch to the end of your lens, so if your tight on space it may not be a good choice.

Although this is not a high priced white balance lens cap, it produces noticeably better photos on my Canon T3i. It is easy to use with the custom white balance setting on the camera. Comparison photos shot with auto-white balance vs custom white balance using this cap have convinced me that the custom approach is the way to go. I highly recommend this product for it's economy and results.

Loved the lens cover & white balance results until the clip to dome in broke. I tried using dome without being "clicked" in & lost the dome. So now it's worthless! Needs to be more durable/better design for the money. Tried to contact company or find out what the warranty is without any luck :(

I purchased this cap for my 67mm Canon T4i and a 58mm cap for my new Vixia HF G30 camcorder.The cap makes setting the white balance very easy. I test compared the auto white balance with the cap white balance and saw some minor difference. However, in difficult mixed lighting sources, the cap should be most helpful. It sure beats trying to use a white card when in a hurry.The cap is recommended in the book: Canon G10 and XA10 by Warren Bass (also purchased through Amazon).

The spring clip holding the dome lost its tension and fell out rendering the cap worthless. When I couldn't find a clip replacement (there seems to be no customer service from BRNO), I read of someone using superglue to affix one dome forever into the cap. DON'T DO THIS." It seems superglue type products give off small amounts of fumes (at least for some time) which settle on the filter (and perhaps lens), and is just impossible to get off. Let my sorrow be your salvation. Before that the cap worked fine. Too bad I couldn't find another 1 dollar clip somewhere to save me this annoyance.

These people have their act together. The packaging was something that I didn't have to slice open and reassembled to be something I can store it back in. The Product snaps on and comes off with ease and does what it says. No extra doo-dads just simple and clean implementation.Good job all around!

Fits right on the UV filter and is ready to give you a white balance in any condition. It's saved me some time in post, although I shoot everything raw and post white balance is not a big deal. Definitely worth the $$
