Small box BIG brain burner
This is such a banger of a game for the money and size. An excellent 2 player puzzle that we always enjoy even when we play badly, which is always. It's a short game, even allowing for being hit by Analysis Paralysis. Should be a MENSA Select game cos it does my head in every time. Great game. Recommended.

Fun little game
Fun little game. Takes about 40 minutes for a two player game. Challenging enough for skill and tactics without being super complicated. Expect it will remain popular in the family for some time to come

A fantastic puzzle in a smal box!
The box art suggests a delightful gaming experience, which it is: delightfully thinky and puzzly. Two great designers and a quality publisher suggests this was always going to be a good game. It turns out Village Rails is first class! reviews at Board Game Review UK Read more

If you love village green... Keep playing it.
Village rails is a spiritual successor to village green. A fantastic card game with a very simple premise.Village rails is it's big brother, it has more rules, more things going on and ultimately is less fun for it.The game itself plays well, each turn choose a card and pay money if it's not the first card in the row. Play it into your tableau. Optionaly you can also buy a trip card at the same time which adds scoring to your routes. My biggest issue comes from just how tight money is in the game, to the point where quite often the only card you can take is the first options. My second issue with the game is that the placement of your rails doesn't feel like a satisfying puzzle (unlike village green) so overall the experience you get here doesn't match the effort required. I'm sure people smarter than me will tell me I'm just bad at the game but for me I'll take the little brother, village green, over this any day.

The best travel game!
I found an excellent video of 'How to play' and we were off! it's literally the perfect travel game:) Beautiful illustrations and production and plays really well. If you like trains, track-laying and strategy I totally recommend this.
