Laguna PF4000 36W Pressure Flo Filter

Bought this to replace a old PF 700 filter that finally failed. The new one is also well made and well designed and improved in several small ways. The filter is effective, it is a bit easier to work the cleaning handles, and the UV indicator light is easier to see. Recommended.

I bought a house with a koi pond, I had no idea how maintain it so I spent two years trying to figure out how to get the water to look crystal clear and nothing worked - I was ready to give up on it so basically this filter was my last hope. When I installed it the water was thick green full of algae and dirt, in three days of having the full filtration on I could already see my fish and about a foot in the water - within two weeks my water was crystal clear and now is pride and joy of my background. This product is absolutely amazing, I had to write a review and tell my story! Oh and the backwash OMG super. Easy, takes me 5 minutes. A must buy!!!!! Buy it, buy it, buy it!!!!

I was skeptical about buying this filter for our koi pond but knew i needed something. All I can say is WOW.. what a difference - even over night! I clean it out at least once a month (it has 5 sponge filters and 'lava-like' rocks for the bottom. I've had it for about 2 months now, and it's still doing an amazing job! Easy to install, clears the water, design is easy to open & clean.

I have used this in my pond all summer..it works great. Water is clear. However, it will nor prevent algae build up

Product arrived damaged internally, and would have been impossible to realise until you filled it with water. It resulted in a flooded patio causing over $1500 in damage to equipment/furniture and having to rehouse all the fish in the pond. Amazon expects you to ship a 50lb wet, smelly filter back instead of sending you just the required damaged parts weighing 2lbs???😡😡The UV tube in the filter was broken, so pond water flooded the UV bulb and ballast which both blew and water gushed out of the filter head. The only way to know this would be to unscrew the filter head on a "new" filter to check before connection. Who does that?? I have been installing filters for 30 years and this NEVER happened. (Unless you buy from Amazon)The partial refund from Amazon was $72 compared to the $200 in parts I had to buy elsewhere.

prior unit used in koa pond lasted 10 yrs plus. ordered new PT-3000 and experienced defective back wash function = water continues flow from back wash outlet in off position. I had to place a dummy plug on outlet to use unit = not user friendly but likely not a common problem. All past purchases performed excellent as advertised.

This is a great pressure filter. I am glad I spent the money versus one of the cheaper ones which have very mixed reviews and seem to suffer with a lot of leaking problems. So far after a couple of weeks it is working fine and zero leaking. My only recommendation would be to put a shut off valve on the backwash outlet versus having to change the cap for the hose fitting. I just installed a valve at the end of the hose and can leave it on permanent.Spend the extra money on this filter. You will not regret it.
