From Alpha to Omega: Ancillary Exercises (Ancient Greek Edition)
S**.
Must for self-learners
I'm going through Groton's "From Alpha to Omega" and I've found that there are not enough exercises to reinforce the new grammar and vocabulary that the book is constantly throwing at you. By the time I'm in, say, chapter 20, I feel I've forgotten half the stuff in chapter 19, let alone the earlier chapters. Thus, when I do the exercises at the back of each chapter, I have to keep flipping through the book to recall little points that I've forgotten. This workbook lets you learn the material much better before moving ahead, and makes the experience of learning Greek from Groton similar to that of learning Latin from Wheelock (which was apparently the writer's intention).

Arrived a week early and seems like a great book

Very important book
Really reinforces Ancient Greek grammar, especially the English to Greek translations which is really the best way to solidify knowledge. Answer key is in the back.

Review of "From Alpha to Omega: Ancillary Exercises"
This is a very useful addition to Anne Groton's textbook. It is to her textbook what the 'supplementary exercises' in Wheelok's Latin are to that venerable textbook.

Greatly improved from first edition
When I took the Beginning two semesters of Greek in college, I used the first edition of this book for extra practice. My instructor advised me against it, though, due to the ridiculous number of typographical errors. I must say, it has been greatly improved and I'm finding it helpful in my review of Attic Greek. Now if only someone would write a workbook for "Greek An Intensive Course" by Hardy Hanson. It is an excellent book but without some sort of key, quite useless to me.

Good contents, formatting isn’t ideal
The exercises are helpful, though there are a few too many that feel like rote memorization of grammar rules and I’d prefer more of the practice sentences instead. The formatting feels a little amateurish, one chapter’s exercises leading directly into another with no page break is a bit disorienting. Probably saved on paper though.Overall definitely worth the purchase, and the best source of practice exercises I’ve found for learning Attic Greek.

The book was as described and the seller was good. I bought it to use as a refresher for my Greek and for that purpose, I personally have found it not that helpful, but for someone who is learning ancient Greek, I think this book would be a big help.
