I have been having a lot of trouble with indigestion lately, with belching and trouble eating certain foods. I have a dormant peptic ulcer that only flares up when I am under certain kinds of stress. In researching this, I found that the ingredients in this product are perfect for my situation, so even though it's very expensive, I decided to try it and am getting good results after only 4 days on it. Healing takes time, so I will have to stay on it for awhile. I have discovered that it's best taken on an empty stomach, at least an hour (2 is better if you can do it) away from any food being eaten. I take it with plenty of water first thing when I get up and then again mid-afternoon, 2 hours before dinner. There are two negative reviews that give incorrect information. Neither of them appear to have read the label correctly. The amounts of DGL and Zinc shown on the label are for a full dose of FOUR capsules. They apparently multiplied the amount shown by 4, which led them to think there was too much of those ingredients to be safe. Not so. Also, I want to say that it's important to use "the right tool for the job." This product is designed to help reduce H. pylori (associated with ulcers and stomach inflammation) and rebuild the mucous lining of the stomach. Acid reflux (GERD, heartburn) is caused by too little stomach acid, so the valve at the top of the stomach doesn't close properly. H. pylori gives off waste that neutralizes stomach acid, so this product probably won't help with reflux until the H. pylori are reduced and the stomach becomes acidic enough for that valve to close. These are complex issues, so your results may vary. I am happy to have found it for me and it's working well for me. My bottle arrived intact, so I didn't have the breakage that others reported, but I think I was lucky because it wasn't in a box and the packaging didn't offer a lot of protection. UPDATE: I wrote the above after only 4 days on this. Today (2 days later), I started experiencing die-off symptoms, so while it feels yucky, this is a very good sign! It seems to be killing off the bad bugs in my stomach and healing has also been taking place. If this makes you feel worse, that could be die-off.
