ep pre for next to free
i love the echoplex. if i could only have one effect it'd be a real echoplex. but its not really feasible to spend so much money or to deal with the functioning problems and hard time finding someone to fix it not to mention the expense incurred or the size of it.so i did what alot of people have done and bought a belle epoch. at first i didnt like it at all but i quickly realized that that was because it lacked the all important magical preamp. so i raced down the rabbit hole of ep-3 pedals finally landing on two. the epoch boost from catalinbread and the xotic ep booster. the xotic being a little bassier which was sometimes a good thing. but recently it broke and while its gone for repairs i thought id try this mosky in the meantime. but the surprising thing is that it sounds fantastic. just as good as the xotic which is saying something because the xotic sounds fantastic too.its one of those pedals that people have a hard time describing but, to me, if some boost pedals are sweeteners this one is a thickener. i like my amps' tones...i'm not trying to "fix" a tone problem. but this pedal allows the amps tones to come through just with a couple goosed frequencies. i dont have an "always on" pedal because i like may colors on my palette. but this is my "most often on" pedal.and once it was my hero. i had just gotten a 1963 fender brown deluxe and there just seemed to be something off about it...i couldnt dial the tone in quite right. it seemed everytime i got close to the target i was aiming for it would cross it into not quite right on the other side without ever htiting the sweet spot. i was deeply disappointed as you can imagine but because i felt close i didnt give up on it. i tried myriad pedals with different lvls of success but none quite right. i messed with the eq/channels/guitar tone knob etc and even an eq pedal for hours. then i tried this little mosky bp booster. i'm sure you can guess but it clicked. with that amp it is an always on pedal.an i just briefly want to say that the size and ease are fantastic too. the one knob is exactly all you need...its boosts volume if you need it and even at unity gain it sounds a little "more". and the price is right of course. its some of the best tone per dollar you can get anywhere.

Excellent Boost Pedal
I got this for my first pedalboard and didn't want to spend a lot since it's my first one and I couldn't be more pleased with this boost pedal. Plenty of headroom, it's quiet and is super clean with boosts but can also get a little hairy if you want it to! It's built great as well, especially for the price.

Affordable
Thought it would be louder but not bad for the price

Don't bother buying this
The pedal is not a "clean volume" boost. It completely changes the tone, boosts the mid, cuts the highs, makes it sound like it's in a little box. The pedal is very noisy while it's engaged when not playing the guitar. Disappointed & misled by the product reviews. Truly, you get what you pay for. CHEAP.

Tames the higain blowtorch
Has a set eq...and mid boosty ,When using metal / thrash tones this pedal calmed the blowtorch sound you get from lack of headroom at highgain so it's gonna stay on my board by no means is this exotic material but for 20$ a poor musicianswill be pleased.

Great boost pedal
It helps tighten up your tone with less volume.

Basic booster that does the job
Great value for the money, does a great job of boosting, and I love the mini pedal size.

Great addition to my mini board
I am very pleased with this unit, very clean and uncolored to my ear. I use it at the end of my chain as a volume boost for solos or for when the rest of the band is getting too loud and obscuring my tone.
