Extra Wide Wood Gate

Love this gate. We have 3 small dogs and needed to keep them out of our carpeted study. This gate was perfect and easy assembly. Sturdiness could be better but I don’t have big dogs so it’s not an issue. It looks good in the house doesn’t look cheap.

I appreciate that this gate can span as wide of an area as it does -- I personally needed to prevent some counter surfing dogs. However, the center, where the two main panels connects is not properly reinforced enough. It is relying on wooden pegs and four screws. Any kind of pressure against the gate, ex: a cat jumping and using the top of the gate as a pushing off point, will cause the gate to begin splitting and bending into a V versus a straight line. I was able to combat this with about $15 worth of metal plates.

We have a big opening, going into our living room and we were having an awful time, keeping the puppy confined to just one room until he was housebroken. This gate was a Godsend not only did it fit the opening, but it was easy to install and to use and definitely solved our problem.

Very flimsy construction! Came in a box that was all open! Luckily the parts were all there! Not sure if I'm going to keep! However I'm using it outside on a deck so should be good enough for that! If your dog likes to jump it would never hold up! I've had baby gates that were much stronger!

They work great for our dogs. They expand perfectly to fit the space .
