Fresh Dulse Seaweed 1kg

I use this to do the medical medium heavy metal detox smoothie. I was super surprised to find that this is not a dried product, it comes chilled and straight out of the ocean. At first I was concerned about storage, and thought I'd have to dry it all or something, but I left it as it came on delivery, packed with some salt in the fridge and it kept for ages perfectly. I just took what I needed each day. To be honest, it's probably a more vital product than the dried stuff, it's literally fresh from the ocean.

This is fresh dulse that arrived quickly and comes in a polystyrene box with 4 ice packs to keep it cool inside a proper cool bag.It was fun to have some fresh for the novelty.As I mostly use this in smoothies I decided to dry it and powder it into flakes.So using 99% of it I dried it in a dehydrator at 65C for 2 hours (for food safety) then reduced the temperature to 45C for 3 hours to retain as much goodness as possible.The result was 132 grams of dried dulse. At £39.99 for the fresh kilo that is equivalent to £302 per kilo dried... should you want to compare price to other ready prepared products.If anyone else is thinking this may be a more economical way of buying dulse to dry and powder themselves, as you can see you are probably better off buying a product that is already dried and flaked and save yourself the time doing it as well as it costing less already processed... unless like me you just want the novelty of having fun experimenting with something new.I'm glad I bought this as I've never tried it fresh before, so it was worth it for the novelty for me, but in future I'd buy it ready dried/flaked unless I actually wanted it fresh as it saves money and hassle.

This is a very good quality product, compare with dry dulse, it’s too expensive with lots of packages and has to store at fridge.
