Q: Do I have to add bate?

No. It is just zigzag strip of sticky stuff in an open ended box... However we caught a mouse before a snake and had to throw it away because it is not reusable... Good Luck!

Q: What is the largest size snake this will be effective on?

DO NOT BUY IT! They do not work. Waste of money.

Q: How do you know when snake is inside? Don’t feel like I want to be opening to check
