I have used the original Eurax cream before and found it very effective. This cooling cream is like the original one but on steroids. I don't mean this is a steroidal cream I mean by eck that's super fast acting. I have recently noticed an itchy rash around my neck so I went to my pharmacist who said it was prickly heat. I have never had it before, he suggested some hydrocortisone cream but I am very careful about applying steroid creams because it makes the skin paper thin and I use sunbeds. I decided to try this cooling Eurax cream instead. I am so.pleased I did because it is excellent. Keeping the skin clean is very important so i use my foaming facial cleanser and then pat the skin dry before applying this. This is more of a gel than a cream. It soaks into the area very quickly and does not leave any residue. Nobody needs to know anything is there. I apply my make up as usual but luckily the itching is further down on my neck sp my make-up isn't effected. I am trying to say that if you did use this gel on your face, you could still apply your make-up. This gel is a great addition to your first aid cabinet because it's good for insect bites & sunburn amongst other skin irritations. Make sure you keep the affected area clean. You can reapply as often as necessary but I wash the area first with cool water. It's well worth the money.

I've got very sensitive, dry, eczema prone skin which meant I haven't managed to find moisturisers or facial cleansers that won't cause my face to flare. I am now in perimenopause suffering for the first time in my life, very dry skin, and putting on any creamy/greasy moisturisers just makes the flare ups worse. I've just been through a bad dermatitis flare up on my face which has calmed down with steroid cream, but it is now very dry and the dryness causes a prickly feeling itch from time to time. I have gone for this moisturiser as it has a very short ingredient list and all the ingredients are rated non-irritant and non-comodogenic on INCIDECODER. It would be very unfortunate if I was even allergic to anything in the ingredients list of this product - would mean there are no skincare products out there I can use for my very dry skin given I already find greasier or oilier products intolerable. Thankfully, I have not found it to be the case. I have found applying this to my skin provides a short term relief to the dryness. The itching is still somewhat there, a bit more reduced, but not to the point of disappearing. I would be very doubtful anyway if this product can get rid of itching from inflammation/dermatitis the same way a steroid cream can. But I will say that it would probably work for a short time for skin where itching is solely caused by dryness and not inflammation/dermatitis. Most people are very unlikely to react to any of the ingredients in this product so it would suit sensitive skin most of the time. But do not expect it to provide substantial long term relief, simply because there are no oils/greasiness in this product. This will not function much like a barrier cream to prevent the loss of moisture from skin either. I have to reapply it throughout the day to get relief from my very dry skin now. But thankfully it seems the only thing my skin now can take. My skin just won't take to oils/greases anymore sadly.

100% recommend this for anyone looking for instant relief for dry/itchy skin, I suffer with various conditions been using so many different creams and back and forth to the doctors/dermatologist. I've used it all over my body, middle of the night waking up with discomfort grabbing my gel quickly gets me back off to sleep really couldn't recommend anything else this gel is great.
