These macro tubes have worked fine for me
These macro tubes have worked fine for me. Build is solid and I've had no issues with the electrical connections. The fit is a bit tight, but I'd rather have that than wobble. I would suggest mounting and dismounting the pieces slowly and carefully, just to be sure the pins don't get damaged or the tube doesn't get stuck on a lens. They aren't perfect, but they can work well and the price is right.

Impressed to say the least… macro on a budget.
After reading the reviews, I decided to take the plunge for myself. Well, it turns out the connections are great, AF worked for my old nifty 50mm f/1.8. I also used my tripod with an 85mm f/1.4 and the shots were razor sharp. I didn’t try a telephoto, just stuck to two primes’.The product has a great feel, very snug and mounts without any issue as well as releases from the camera (Canon 80D). I could not be more pleased with my purchase. I just didn’t have a budget for a macro, but with this product all that has changed.Below are a few shots using the extensions. Once again, very pleased.

Nice, but buy better
I purchased this an a less expensive option for macro photography for the occasional extreme close up. When it arrived it was solidly built and had good weight to it. However, with the lenses it worked with it seemed nice but there in lies the problem. The fit is very tight ( almost to the point you worry it will damage your lens or camera) and they only work with canon lenses. It would not work with my sigma lens. So if you are not using it with an actual canon lens, it will not work for you. I returned mine. Hope this helps!

Cheap, solid and damaging.
I just tried this last night and it failed. I tested each tube separately and only two of them would allow the auto-focus to work intermittently. When it did let the lens try to focus, it could never actually achieve focus, and this was with the camera pointed at a brightly lit area, like a lamp. One of the tubes never passed any signals through whatsoever. Basically, even though these are supposed to work with auto-focus, they didn't. I might as well just get a set of manual tubes. The tubes themselves are very rugged, and came assembled, just like in the product photo. They were tight and took some effort to disconnect from one another. The release buttons are pretty cheap though, being just a short bare metal rod with a sharp edged flat face. These could have been rounded since those edges do start to irritate the fingers after a few uses.Attaching these to the camera made me wince though. They're a tight fit and sure enough, that tightness did a bit of damage to the mounting ring on the camera. The same thing happened to the lens rings. What was previously a nice shiny finish now looks like it's been beaten up by several years of use. This isn't something you'd want to try on an expensive camera. Also, one of the tube had a slightly protruding contact, which nearly bent one of the contact pins on my camera.I cannot recommend these to anyone, and I'll be returning mine. I'll spring for a set of actual Canon tubes later.

Just Fantastic!!!!!
I don't know what people are complaining about! These are top notch macro tubes!!!!Fully metal!!!Zero Play, and I'm not even kidding!!!Nice and tight fit on both ends, so no play on camera mount nor on between the lens and tubes!!!Comes with very gorgeous caps, which is a minor thing, but nice!!!Overall a very solid product, way better than the plasticy crap I bought earlier for the same price, which I had to return!!! Huge amount of play and it didn't even fit on my lens!!!

Fotodiox Pro Canon EOS Auto Macro Extension Tube Set Kit
I ran into this Fotodiox Pro Canon EOS Auto Macro Extension Tube Set Kit when I was searching for the Kenko tubes and took the chance to see if this will work or not. I was planning to return them if not meeting my needs and repurchase the Kenko.Since they arrived about a week ago,I've been testing the Fotodiox extension tubes and found they work with various lenses quite well. And I'm going to keep them for good. Below is the list of equipment used for the tests:* Canon Rebel T4i body* Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS zoom, with all 3 tubes as individually and all combined* Canon EF-S 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 IS zoom, with 13mm tube* Canon EF 80-200 f2.8 with each tube individually* Canon FD 50mm f1.4 and Fotodiox 10FDEOSG PRO Lens Mount Adapter for Canon FD, New FD, FL Lens to Canon EOS Camera, with all 3 tubes as individually and all combined* Nikon AI-S 105mm f1.8 and Fotodiox 10LA-NIK-EOS-C V2. Lens Mount Adapter with Dandelion AF Focus Confirmation Chip, with each tube individually* Nikon AI-S 200mm f2.0 and Fotodiox 10LA-NIK-EOS-C V2. Lens Mount Adapter with Dandelion AF Focus Confirmation Chip, with each tube individuallyI have been able to achieve with different magnification with the above lenses and tubes in combinations. With the Canon EF-S and EF lenses, the auto focus feature is maintained. Even with the 18-200 zoomed to the long end with f5.6, the camera has been able to do servo focus when I was testing with taking pictures of some sword tail in my fish tank. I have been able to take pictures in all modes including full auto program. With the Nikon AI-S and the Canon FD lenses with the respected adaptors, I was able to take pictures in aperture priority or manual mode. All pictures came out with proper exposures. I'm very pleased with the performance of these tubes so far. Especially for the bargain price. On the other hand, I did have a little issue on the 31mm tube when I first received it. During the first few trials, I noticed it worked on some lenses but got an error said to check the contacts. I took a look at contacts carefully and use a pen to slightly press each contact pin and found the spring tension on one of them was not quite strong as the others. I used a small screw driver to adjust the spring tension and that fixed the problem. I have not got the error since then. This seems to me the quality control for this product have room to improve. The space between each tube and the connection between the tube and the lenses is quite tight. I have not notice any tolerance space there. However, there is a hair loose space between the tube and the camera body after the tube is attached to the camera. But nothing rally affecting the performance, even when I was using the heavier lenses such as the 200mm F2.The tubes have a fairly large metal release button to unlock the lenses/tube(s) connected to them. I had no trouble releasing any of the lenses tested from the tube.Over all, I would recommend this product. The tubes function as advertized and they are well worth the money for what they can do. I took a star off due to the pin connection issue described in the review.
