Arrived alive and wiggling.

Exactly as promised
All arrived alive. There seemed to be a variety of ages/sizes in larvae which was perfect for me; my smaller spiders can eat the tiny larvae while my larger jumpers feast on the older ones. They really love any flies that periodically hatch too, and the staggered larvae ages has provided a wonderful long-lasting feeding option. Today is 10/17 and I actually still have a few left! Will definitely be purchasing more in the future.

Awesome
It's been almost a month since I ordered these. They all were alive upon arrival. Today the first adult emerged. These are great specimens. About 6 adults emerged. This is perfect timing as I'm about to take a weekend trip. More adults will emerge while I'm gone. My anoles get great exercise chasing them around the tank.Soldiers flies are great cause they are fast flyers but they like to sit. So my lizards get good exercise with a good reward.

great feed but look out
This is a great feed! packaged well and always shipped in great packaging. I just think it should come with a warning that they may mature before use and have wings and will fly out when you open the container so just be mind full as you open the container. We loved feeding these to several of our exotic babies.

Read this before you think they're dead
These things are interesting. Most people think they are DIE, but this isn't the case. These bugs rarely move at room temperature. They remain lifeless and hard until they are exposed to temperatures of 85-90f for at least 2 minutes. If you revive these lifeless here's what to do:Take out however many you want to feed to your pet and put them in a baggy. Run some mid warm to slightly hot water into that bag and let sit for 10 seconds. Dump the water. You should now see some movement in the bag, if not, repeat above steps once more.To fees them, give them some veggies and fruits. For water, just spray water into the cup, 2 sprays every 2 or 3 days will do.When these bugs are scared, they tend to go back to their lifeless stage. So again, I doubt they are dead. You can't kill these things. I had a cup of 250 of these for about a month. After a months time, I've only had 2 die on me. And I'm still not convinced they were actually dead. I have found some burrowed under the cages substrate probably from weeks ago that are still alive.

never became flies, just are worms. customer service not at all helpful.
the worms arrived without clear care instructions. the worms are supposed to cocoon and morph into flies. I made the mistake of purchasing this item from this vendor twice. thinking that i had just gotten a bad batch the first time. neither shipment became flies. called customer service. they sent a link to a video that i had to set up an account with. why not just talk to me and help me troubleshoot, or send an attachment care sheet? usually I have found Josh's frogs to be reliable for other feeder worms and insects.

Word of advice, feed your food.
A starved creature you are feeding to your pet is not exactly nutritious and you are really selfish if you don't bother to even care for the critters you are buying if you don't at least throw them something to eat. they are Fly larva, they eat -anything- so like if you have a banana peel or left over ground beef or potatoes that started to grow. ANYTHING works. Just keep in mind that food goes bad and the little bugs like to burrow so you are going to deal with that. Get a larger container, they grow up and eat really fast. If you own a pet that likes the flies and you want to get to the fly portion of the life cycle, a 5 to 10 gallon cage is a good size for 250 adults. I am going to use large deli cups for my next purchase those to better control when everyone hatches. You can do this, they are easy to take care of. They pretend to be dead and need a little encouragement sometimes to wiggle.
