I have histamine intolerance and terrible food sensitivities. I also love jerky (beef, bison, turkey, elk, and so on). Unfortunately, most jerky on the market is saturated in soy sauce and black pepper (both high histamine), is made from OLD meat (higher histamine!), and has a large number of ingredients (many of which are high histamine and/or a food sensitivity); I can have a running nose immediately and heartburn quickly that lasts hours after consuming. Dear god, have I tried most of the pastured and organic jerky out there! If I was in better health, I would certainly try to make my own, but, FINALLY, here's Brooklyn Biltong's "Naked"-- high quality beef, great flavor, and only 3 ingredients! I had ZERO histamine issues and ZERO heartburn. Considering I'm on the carnivore diet per doctor and nutritionist's recommendation for GI tract healing, I need more than what I can cook, and snacks to take with me... look no more!My three "cons" with "Naked" biltong, which may or may not be how it is for all flavors, are that it is moderately greasy, a bit stringy and hard to chew for some pieces, and the individual pieces are pretty small (there's a lot in each bag, though!). It's just not the easiest casual snack when you're out and about. Having a napkin handy and knowing where you can wash your hands is probably ideal... Ultimately, I appreciate everything about this product and I find the pure flavor to be so pleasant after years of over-seasoned jerky. I've finally found my snack staple! The only thing that could make it better... a little more for a little less $$, but that's not the way food is trending.

This product isn't worth the price. The beef is tough and full of fat and sinew. The fat and sinew is uneatable. If I could return this product I would.

I love this so much, simple clean ingredients, along with great taste makes it the perfect snack. It’s great for people like me who have food allergies, I can enjoy the food I love without worrying about a long list of ingredients that could possibly make me sick.

Don’t let it sit around.This stuff goes bad fast but is delicious when freshI ordered 4 bags and 1 of them came rancid so definitely some QC issues. Brooklyn Biltong has to look out for this because refunds for rotten product might affect the bottom line if this continues. The sell by date on my rotten package was in 2026 and I ordered it April 2025. You will know right away because it will feel kinda slimey and smell super sour. Thankfully Amazon gave me a full refund for both bags BUT other reviews say that Brooklyn Biltong the actual company won’t refund for rotten meat so if you buy this on Amazon, open it up right away and store it in the freezer if you have to. I might try to air fry or dehydrate them further for longer term storage.

I've been eating a couple pounds of this stuff every month for about a year. At first it was perfect... then it changed flavor and was less perfect. I hung in there though and the last two batches, in their new packaging, are even better than the original batches that I loved so much.If you're new to the product, don't be dissuaded by the recent poor reviews -- I agree with their sentiment -- but the company fixed the issue.I appreciate a company that tries to improve and listens to customer feedback. I will continue spending $80/month on this product.

It certainly is Beef, but not sure if I got a bad batch but I would call it more of slices of room temp beef than jerky. I have tried many jerky brands and varieties and by far this was probably the most misleading smells good and the taste is alright but it's not a jerky, honestly if I were to compare it to anything it reminds me of the Jack link nuggets but sliced. The only positive is that it does seem to be made of quality wholesome ingredients.If you are the type of person that likes moist or wet jerky then this is something you may like but for me I prefer the traditional dry jerky and it's not for me. I have 3 stars as opposed to 1 because I do think it should get points for quality ingredients and taste but I am unsure whether it really is Jerky.

I have been eating this Biltong on autoship for over a year now & I am obsessed with it. I truly don’t understand how there are so many bad reviews, it’s truly a shame. People who get it, GET IT & those who don’t, clearly don’t I guess.This Biltong is IDEAL for anyone on the Autoimmune Protocol Diet (AIP). A HUGE win for me, is this is literally the only brand I have been able to find that doesn’t have black pepper on it, or sugar or other crap.This is pure, good quality stuff.The texture is amazing, so soft, way better than any jerky.Also the flavor is great! Those who are reviewing otherwise clearly are used to eating a bunch of junk & don’t like the taste of real food…WILD.I’m also shocked by all the people who comment about the food molding…I’ve been ordering 4-6 every month on autoship & have never had that problem. Eat the Biltong in a reasonable time & it won’t mold on you. Shocking I know.Anyways, if you’re looking for a good quality, clean ingredients, AIP friendly high protein snack. Look no further.10/10 recommend.

Meh....its super soft... weird under taste.. maybe the vinegar... semi salty....and little crumbs ... not strips... will not buy again...the dog liked it..over priced.
