For reference, got a 2005 Honda Civic Ex. Original owner seemed to have broke the plastic as well as the frame around the area. Broke off the remaining plastic with some cutters and it did the trick. It will not automatically go straight so make sure yours is straightened if you have issues with a crooked latch. Works 100% well, it was easy to apply, hard to begin but it depends on the condition of the old latch. Aluminum makes it light and durable so this is an amazing replacement. Will consider their other products if i were to buy a replacement part.

Easy installation in 06 Honda Element. Just have to remove about an inch of the plastic piece that is still around the steel cable. Popped the kick panel off, and used a Dremel to chew the plastic off. Used some loctite on the threads. Looks good and works great.

Great and high quality metal handle to repair the all-too-common broken plastic OEM handle for these Honda’s (mine is a 2000 Honda CR-V). Gonna be a little harsh and say that the manufacturer should have used higher quality, stainless steel perhaps, set screws. The supplied allen key will strip out the head if you tighten too much. The handle definitely isn’t going anywhere with them tight, but in my opinion I would have preferred this product cost an extra couple dollars and those set screws be stainless steel instead of what appears to be (soft) zinc. Also, if you don’t have a rotary tool / dremel, don’t even bother doing this job. The broken off plastic needs to be cut off, there is no way to pry it off. I used a dremel then used some small channel lock pliers to pry the plastic off the rest of the way. Was left over with nice clean metal from the hood latch cable. This handle installs directly onto that. If they updated the set screws to SS this would be an easy 5-star product. Overall, very happy and satisfied. Hard to complain about much when it’s only $5.

Hardest part was clipping plastic off wire from the prior device. I was able to attach in less than 10 minutes once I was able to remove plastic from original cable. I know NOTHING about cars. Just followed the instructions. Works fine.

Love the latch but it won’t fit on the hood release cable. Trying to make it work. Love this item.
