great product, very quick delivery - seems to be backed by a buch of guys who really care about their products. works very well, and the +4 and +7 timers are great .. what that means is that the unit will go on at dusk and stay on for either 4 hours past that (if the switch is in one position) and then turn off (e.g. like someone shutting off their TV to sleep), or go on at dusk and stay on for 7 hours past that (switch in the other position). There's also a regular "on" setting for timer use or manual operation. the unit also lights an LED depending on the timer switch (one is red LED and the other BLUE LED) so you can confirm at a glance that you have it set the way you want it.the look is extremely realistic and the light is plenty bright. and, the unit is nice and compact and the power cord is sufficiently long.one key is to make sure you can't see the unit directly from the outside. I ended up placing it on a window shelf in a 2nd floor room, and placing a box between it and the window, and then one on either side as well (I suppose I could just cut one side off a single box and use that as well, like a diorama would be) -- this ensured the light was not directly visible, and casts a shadow on the window that looks like the light is coming from the back of a TV. I'm sure you could project it onto a wall facing the window, or other possibilities as well.sure it could be a little less expensive, but the price isn't prohibitive, and the company seems to promise great support as well (e.g. will send a new one if there's any trouble, etc). and, for the money, it's a great additional deterrent and good value.highly recommended!!! (and I have nothing to do at all with the company, I just think they did a great job with this one!).

This unit is so convincing, I have actually pulled into my own driveway thinking, "oh, someone is home watching tv..." Of course, I quickly remember that it's FakeTV, but it is amazingly realistic. I scoured the reviews before buying this and waited over a month to review it myself. Here is what I have gathered after experimenting with several locations in my house and viewing it from outside.1 - Needs to be on an upper floor and not in a window someone can look into directly, for obvious reasons2 - Works well with thin blinds/roman shades, or white curtains, but I have no issues using it without any window coverings3 - You'll probably want to shine the light at an angle to the window so you get an ambient glow that looks like a TV. Mine is set about 1' below the base of the window, centered underneath the middle and pointing towards the corner of the room next to the edge of the window. I also put it in a very large room set about 8' away from the side wall and 5' away from the wall with the windows.4 - Settings include a dusk+4 hours, a dusk+7 hours and an "always on" setting. I prefer using the dusk+4 hour setting since it stays on through prime time when most people have their TV on. I've found it reliably comes on, but the times are approximate so it isn't *too* predictable.5 - Be prepared for the neighbors to ask you about your favorite shows... if you're like me and don't really watch TV, you might struggle with answering that one! :)I noticed a reviewer complained that it was too rhythmic to be confused with a real TV, but this wasn't the case at all in my experience. I could not discern any pattern as it appears to change from screen to screen... maybe at some point it looks like flipping channels, but that is to be expected if someone is at home watching TV and changing channels during a commercial break and I think it just adds to the realism.Bottom line: it is definitely worth the money, does exactly what it claims to do, and is really easy to use. The unit itself seems fairly basic (it is made in China if that matters to you), but it does not seem flimsy. I would absolutely make this purchase again.

Smart product. Works great. Uses very little energy. Nice built-in timer features. Great product if you are looking for a simple but effective security device. If placed properly inside of house, looks exactly as if a TV were on.

I travel quite a bit, and previously have only had light timers as a theft deterrent while away. After a few burglaries in my neighborhood, I decided to ramp it up a bit, and decided that a Fake TV would be a good addition, especially since anyone watching my house while I was home would always see a tv on at night, and would not see it when I was away.... So I got this at a very reasonable price, and have been pleased with the performance. It took a while to figure out the proper positioning in the room so that it looked most 'realistic' from the outside (i.e., not too bright, not too dim), but it does look pretty realistic I think. I like the different on/off options as well. I think this will serve me well and put one more question mark in the minds of potential burglars about whether my house is the best one to break into!

This really works well. Just don't face it directly towards your blinds. I had it facing away from the blinds and behind a tissue box so you couldn't look through the spaces in the blinds and see it. Went outside to check and adjusted its placement til I got it just right. It is so realistic. Combined with smart switches for my lights that I can turn off and on from anywhere, I feel like my house is more secure.

It really looks like the TV is on. Very happy I got it!

It really does look like someone's home! This is the first time I've gone away and felt confident that my house was as secure as it could be. Previously I'd put a light on a timer, but this is so much simpler and effective. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent product which functions just as described- gives the impression from outside that you have the TV on but uses little power.Put it on a timer along with other light elsewhere in the house and it looks as if you are home

Have 3 of these in various homes. Have used them for several months. All work as expected. Great product, uses minimal electricity.
