Utopia Kitchen Sink Strainer - Stainless Steel - Set of 2 - Diameter 4.5 Inches - Prevent Clogging - Ideal for Kitchen and Bathroom Sinks

We had a plumber tell us we had some issues with the way our pipes were installed and that we could not use the garbage disposal until the pipes were re-installed. I bought this little set to cover the disposal until we have the plumbing work completed and they are perfect. I was surprised to like them so much! They are very shiny and make the sink in this old house we just purchased look much better. And of course they function as expected which is the more important factor. They just sit over the drain and stay in place until you need to dump out scraps into the trash. It's easy to grab them out for that purpose as needed. Though I got it for covering the disposal, we are using in both sides of the sink and plan to continue to do so even once our repairs are complete. Who knew such a simple and inexpensive item could make such a difference!

They fit perfectly, with the flange slipping down into the recess around the drain. Food bits slide easily into the strainer bowl and don’t get hung up around the edge. They empty easily into the trash with just a couple of taps. Not flimsy either. I’m very pleased.

I used to use the stainless mesh kind, but the basket and/or rim would bend a little, and I would frequently need to re-shape them and small food would sometimes slip under the edge.These are great because the slight curve and very thin edge fits nicely to the sink/drain and things don't slip under it. Someone could find it a challenge to pick up unless they have fingernails to get under the edge, but I don't mind that at all, so didn't remove any stars because of it.So far they seem very nice and high quality. I will update if I find any problems.

Four stars only because the drain is difficult to clean out...but, good way to collect the shower stuffs you don’t want in your drain! It also started rusting in the first couple days...so need to constantly clean...

Fantastic! Excellent product at a great price. (I got them at a slight discount as an add-on item) These work much better than the mesh variety I have been using, They are easier to clean and do not get bent out of shape. I also bought another brand of the same type of strainer from Amazon in the same order as this product. I sent the other ones back and will be ordering a second set from Utopia kitchen. Even though I will be paying $1.00 more now for the set of two, it will be worth it!

Even on the package it says “with silicone”. This led me to believe there would be a silicone band to help it seal/ not scratch my sink. No such silicone band. There’s nothing silicone about this.

What a joy to have something that really works. It directs the water into the drain and collects the food debris (unlike the screen strainer we had before which allowed much of the water & debris to go under the strainer). It's easy to remove the scraps from the strainer, both when wet and dry. Very happy with this product. Also, my brother purchased a different brand of stainless strainer and it performs badly. So I tried this Utopia Kitchen brand and it performs great.

Misleading items. Sure it says (2) 4.5mm stainers but it also says sink and bathroom which mislead me to believe that it could fit a bathroom sink too. But they meant it fits a bathtub. I am not happy. I will keep them although. Beautiful and shiny steel. Large holes too. Miniscule food can get thru. Basically to catch hair and big things not tiny things .
