Solid material, but there are problems.
This bamboo material is generally very well made. It's durable and quite beautiful, although the color can vary between pieces and even the 2 sides of each piece. Doesn't bother me, but could be something to keep in mind depending on your project. It also finishes well for different applications and can be sealed to be waterproof. The shipping is fast and the price is somewhat reasonable. It is difficult to find bamboo plywood without ordering huge quantities, so I guess you sacrifice a bit for the convenience here. The main things you should know before ordering:1. The dimensions are far from perfect. It is sold as 200mm squares, with a variance of up to 3mm in each dimension. Unfortunately all of my pieces varied by more than that, some by up to 8mm. This might not be a huge issue if it wasn't for the fact that none of the pieces were cut to square. So you can expect to spend some time fixing the sloppy edges if you will need perfect 90 degree angles for your project. You also waste material doing this, so don't expect any full 8 inch squares. Realistically you can assume you'll have 7 3/4 inch squares to work with when all is said and done.2. Many of the pieces came warped. Even though they are packed flat, 4 of the 12 sheets I've received came somewhat warped. This can be fixed but will add extra time to your project. Youtube will show you how.3. SPLINTERS. Seriously be careful when handling, especially when you take them out of the package. Imagine the splinters when you break apart two chopsticks, but they're hard to see and all over the faces of each sheet. It may not look like there are splinters but trust me, it is probably best to wear gloves or use some other hand protection when you handle this. It can be "de-splintered" a bit by rubbing a paper towel (or anything smooth, other than your hand) ACROSS the grain. In other words, remove the splinters in a perpendicular (90 degree) direction to the grain. Don't remove splinters with the grain because that may tear out a larger amount of material.TLDR; all that being said I would buy this again, mainly for the convenience of quick shipping and buying from Amazon. I can recommend it as a material as long as you've read my review and understand that there may be some extra work involved in getting it to look the way you want. Happy making!

Grain lifts - has to be sealed
These were great for lasering, and they look great except the grain lifts like sharp hairs. I went over it several times with fine sandpaper and "fixed" it until you run your hand over and it pulls up. These have to be sealed after working with them.
