Good standard puerh, clear, smooth, very enjoyable, good value. (7572)
This is what puerh is. You can steep it light or dark and decide how you like it best. The flavor is right, no offensive side flavors, and if you are new to puerhs, then this a good one try. It is a good standard puerh flavor, and it is priced right for what it is, when comparing to better and worse versions of the same tea. I gave it 5 stars because it is "good" and priced well, but it is not spectacular. Expect to pay much more spectacular. If this is the price you are used to paying for tea, then there is no reason to hesitate. Being the tea snob that I am, I would pay more for better tea, but I would not hesitate to buy this again.

Sweet notes, not stale, tea buzz
The media could not be loaded. LEAF QUALITY: 6/10Quite a few stems in this batch. When opening you notice a fair amount of tea dust broken of from the leaves. As mentioned, the leaves are not compacted as firmly as other cakes I have purchased. Pieces break apart quite easily.TEA LIQUOR: 8/10Not as "tangy" as most good fermented Puer leaves, BUT is very smooth and has a subtle aftertaste of your typical dark berry flavors. The leaves do not smell fishy at all, more like bamboo or Hong w of Anhua sweetness.PRICE: 10/10I feel for the price range the quality of the tea you get is perfect for the quantity. After my 3rd infusions I am noticing the Chaqi or "tea buzz" sensation. And this was AFTER a good hearty breakfast.OVERALL RATING: 9/10Good tea for the price range. No terrible flavors. Chemical reactions with aged teas will deliver on the tea high experience. What could be better is the paper wrapping and tea compression. But I would recommend to other tea drinkers!

Works for me.
Has some flavor and taste. Price is on point, worth a try. Has the attributes: 1. Nice leaves not sticks, rocks, hairs, etc., 2. Brews up 3X, looks like tea after 3 brews!! At a buck and half, it can be in regular rotation.

Classic 7542 with quick delivery?! Couldn't ask for much more...
Pretty straight forward. 150g of 7542 for $25 is never a bad deal. Delicious smokey and malty flavor that mellows out into a more chestnutty cream flavor with hints of vanilla later on. Its a young sheng, so you are getting what you order. Probably benefit from decent storage for another year or so (good humidity and heat, no odors etc) but for long term aging Id probably go for the regular 357g cakes. Still, in a pinch this seems to be an excellent deal. Also, Ive seen reviews for similar products noting that this tastes incomplete a not like puer that they are use to. There are 2 types of puer, raw(sheng) and cooked/ripe (shou). This is a sheng, and a young sheng at that, which typically people age for a while before drinking. That is a matter of preference, and a lot of people like myself enjoy drinking them young as well. Ripes are good to go right out of the package, though aging can help. If you dont think this tastes like what your familiar with, it is probably because you are use to aged shengs or ripes, and you may opt for a ripe dayi like a 7572. These young shengs will taste bitter and smokey, with a bit of tobacco flavor. They will sweeten and become more malty and complex with age.

Smells and tastes repugnant
This was my first purchase for Taetea. The price was pretty low so I didn't expect anything amazing. But since Taetea is a well-known brand for pu erh tea.. like Lipton for black tea, I thought that it was going to meet my lowest expectation.Long story short, the tea tasted very artificial.. in a sickening way. It didn't smell anything like pu erh tea that I've known.. I'm not saying I'm pu erh tea expert since I've tasted only 6-7 different tea cakes.. But those tea leaves that I had were pretty high-end from my relative. So I thought I was spoiled at first and tried to convince myself that this is supposed to be the Chinese standard quality. I ended up drinking most out of the small tea cake. It took me like a month. All along I felt mildly sick in my stomach. Every time without an exception. It wasn't giving me a stomach ache or diarrhea.. but it was as if my body rejecting it because something is off. I should have thrown it away on the first try.. but amazon prime did not accept a return or refund.Oh, I just remembered... I found thick hair and that's when I realized that something's wrong with Taetea cooking method or at least this batch of the tea cakes. Because the cake was cooked or steamed, it was all curled up. Imagine finding thick curly hair after you finish drinking the tea. If this was a genuine Taetea cake.. I question the entire tea production lines from this company.. My experience with Taetea was horrible.I found a different pu erh tea brand that is in a similar price range. I'm relying on my own tongue and body reaction instead of the brand name. I'm happier with this other brand. None of the chemical smell or sickening feeling.

Mediocre young sheng.
I guess this tea tastes exactly what you would expect. Factory tea on Amazon. Not bad, but not great either. It's bitter, as it should be, while it's this young. But it is a bit thin with not much mouthfeel. There is a slight off smell in the leavesbafter steeping, but it's really suddle and I probably would have even noticed it if not for the other reviews slamming it. The cake I got was 10 months after pressing, so this is very young. It was dated Aug 12, so these are summer leaves which can explain the lack of debth in the flavor. The price wasn't expensive at $20 for the 150gm cake. But I have a lot of great young sheng that I bought for around $45 per 357gm cake. So it isn't less expensive than the good stuff. In short, if you like it, drink it. I'm not going to throw it away, but it probably won't get drunk very fast as there are a lot of great teas out there and only so many hours in the day.

Holds up to many steepings.
This is for the "cooked" version -- haven't tried the raw.I've been drinking Puehr tea daily for the past 15 years. This one is medium priced, a little on the expensive side for me. I put it in a large mug and poor boiling water over it and I can get about five good steepings out of it. It's a typical strong earthy puerh. The flavor lasts a lot longer than other ones I've tried on Amazon. In short, despite the higher price tag, I still keep coming back to this one. I drink one brick in about 3 weeks.

Good.
Arrived fast and in good quality. My cake is stamped 2008 and was sealed with labels.Taste like an aged black tea, very pleasant.

it's quite nice
this is a really nice tea. the date says 2008 which is quite aged. it's my first puerh and it is kind of funky at first.. Definitely has a compost aroma but as long as you read how to make it, it ends up tasting like a nice green tea sort of taste. recommend.

Solid puerh and good taste.
Infused at 93c.Very flavorful warm grape and plum undertones with main puerh flavour and an astringent zing aftertaste.Smells very distinctly of strong raw puerh.

Opened
The mailing packaging isn't borken but the tea packaging is broken and the seal is opened. Sadly I couldnt start a dispute. I have doubts on whether or not it's safe to consume...

Wouldn’t recommend it.
This tea has literally no earthy or woody taste… for the price I honestly cannot recommend it.I give it two stars because it doesn’t have any funky smell to it, that’s the only good thing about this tea cake.
