2nd defective product in a row and it’s less than 2 months old. And I’m stuck with it
Edit - I now have the same issue with this new hair straightening iron. The temperature gauge is not accurate and it keeps getting way hotter than the temperature I set it to. I was using it today and set it to 200 degrees (near the lowest heat setting) and it actually melted/burned my hair right off. It’s obviously getting WAY hotter than it should be. There’s no way it should melt my hair when set to 200 deg. It really shouldn’t even melt my hair if it was set at the highest heat setting of 350. Not with a quick press. So I would guess that it was getting much hotter than that (which should obviously never happen). This is the 2nd unit in a row that had this problem. This one isn’t flashing the “Err” message like the last one. At least with that one it would start flashing an error message when it overheated. This time it was reading the correct temperature so there was no way to know it was was hotter than it should have been until I used it and it very quickly started to melt my hair. There seems to be some type of manufacturer defect. I would avoid buying this hair straightening iron.I had an issue with the first 1-3/5 inch hair straightener I ordered. It kept getting way hotter than what I set the temperature at and then it would start flashing an “Err” message. So I contacted amazon that night. They got back to me hours later and had already shipped the new hair straightener by the quickest means possible. It arrived the next day. Very impressive! So far so good with the new hair straightener. I had this same model for years and loved it but unfortunately it got broken in a move. So when I came across the same model I ordered it immediately. I’m guessing the first one I got was just a rare defect. As I said, the replacement is working perfectly so far and the previous one I had worked great (and would probably still be working if it hasn’t been broken). I’ll update this if I run into any more problems, but I don’t anticipate that happening.BTW I love that you can set the temperature in 10 degree increments from 170-350.

Functionality & durability is what's important NOT a name & this has both.
Daddy's Little girl (grown woman that's treated that way coz she's making it on her own) loves how it does her hair & that's all that matters to me.
