1lb per square foot. Each roll is 100lbs. Cut to length to make it easier to install. Walls are a common place to install and if you cut a sheet to 8' tall and the roll is 4' wide, 8*4=32lbs. Doable with two people. I'm installing sheets at 50lbs each on my ceiling. Since I'm doing it alone, I'm using a drywall lift with a sheet of plywood to hold the majority of the weight.Don't forget the special nails to install it. You need short ring shank nails with metal caps to keep the MLV from ripping. Plastic washers are often listed but I've found those to be too thick when I go to install drywall. Metal caps are much thinner and make for a better install.

Good quality MLV. This alone doesn’t soundproof a room, but it’s great in combination with things like rockwool soundproof insulation, weatherstripping and more. Definitely a staple in soundproofing

I used this liner to soundproof my kids room who is a gamer and we can hear him from the other room. I used the liner on the wall and then soundproof slat panels over it. It damped the sound a little bit but definitely not really a soundproof. On top of the smell is horrific. We are on week 3 and can’t get rid of this poisonous rubber smell. I ran an ozone machine to try to eliminate the smell and it just doesn’t work. My son gets headaches and needs to sleep elsewhere. Do not use this product inside a home!

The product is heavy, stable, and does a good job of knocking out sound. Just know that in a small space, this product throws off some serious fumes. Like when you open a new plastic shower curtain liner x10. I hung this MLV in our bedroom to block out street noise. It's going on 4 days with an open window now and the plastic smell is still dominating. Pew.

My client wanted to enjoy his home theater experience without the entire house hearing it. If I had my way I would have put MLV b4 the drywall. But it did work well on top of the drywall. I was able to reduce the sound outside the room by 60%.I used roofing nails and a staple gun to Secure all the panels. You definitely want to have someone help you because the material has a little weight to it. To close all my seams I used a MLV tape.The other cool thing about the material I used every last piece of it. No need to waste any of it!!

This is NOT odor free. It's off-gassing a lot. I unrolled and aired it out in my shop for a day, whole shop smelled like chemicals. Let it air out in the sun another day. After spending 5 hours installing in my truck, have a bad headache. But it's a lot cheaper than any of the professional sound deadener company MLV. When combined with CLD tiles and closed cell foam, it does really help cut the noise. I'm just hoping the odor abates quickly.
