Airpower sponge filter

Excellent pump.

I've been really impressed with the AQQA Submersible Sponge Water Filter. It keeps my tank water crystal clear, runs quietly, and is super easy to set up and maintain. The filtration quality is top-notch, and it does a great job supporting both mechanical and biological filtration. My fish are thriving!The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I haven’t been able to find replacement sponges anywhere. This is a bit frustrating since the filter itself works so well, and I’d like to keep it running in top condition.If AQQA made the replacement sponges easier to find, this would be a perfect product. Still, I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient aquarium filter.

The sponge filter clears the water great. So happy with that. Just had a problem with understanding the instructions for taking it apart ready to put in tank. They were not very clear at all, and I had to try to figure it out myself. I eventually did. Fasteners for the tube that goes through the middle of the sponge are not very strong. You need to be careful with them otherwise the sponge will not stay on the base if they break. There are only 2 of them. It takes a while for the sponge filter to sink to the bottom of the tank. The air brick supplied with my filter was the same size as the plastic tube, so I had to use a smaller one for the bubble maker to work. The tube needs to fit over the air brick. I was lucky I had an air pump with 2 outlets, as the new sponge filter used one and my air stone also needed one. It came with 2 one way filters and some plastic tube to fit to air pump. Overall I am happy with the filter doing its job. But I struggled putting it together, and I am usually quite good at that. Better instructions are needed. It took me several hours to sort out the filter and fitting it to the air pump.

I took this out to clean. The bit off plastic that connects to filter snapped inside. Un able to remove the bit off plastic. I'm literally 4 days out from not being able to return. Had this 6 weeks now it's completely useless

Needed a new filter, as the one that came with my tank was too strong for my axolotl. This was perfect! It does what it says, only thing I didn’t realise is it didn’t come with the outside pump, so that has to be purchased separately. Other than that great product!

Not sure if just me, but found it useless. Tried all sorts to get it to work as intended, but nothing I had fitted.

I will definitely be getting some more of these, they are brilliant for shrimp tanks and also great for newly hatched fish fry, and most importantly, they save energy which is great.

Compact and dose the job really well it’s quiet and has a really good built quality it’s easy to setup and cleans your fish tank really well only flaw is the sponge Dose not maintain its shape once in water
