I was able to score this wheel “used” from Amazon for $60 bucks..grinder does run a lot quieter now. Grind was quick and chisels were not hot. Would recommend if you can find a deal online.

The CBN grindwheel fits perfectly in my benchtop grinder. I did need to purchase some additional 5/8" spacers to make sure it wasn't rubbing against the inner wall of my grinder, but once it was secured and aligned, it didn't take me long at all to resharpen my lathe tools. A few quick passes removes a lot of material fairly quickly, so make sure to be careful. That being said, it's exactly what you need for tool sharpening, and it's leagues ahead of the composite grindwheels in getting a sharp, straight edge without chips or uneven surfaces.

I bought this wheel based on the positive reviews. I also purchased the WEN variable speed grinder. I could not get this wheel to run true. I also had issues with the grinder's speed control so I sent it back and purchased a Rikon slow speed grinder. I've had this combo now for several weeks and I am still having issues with the vibration and wobble. I've tried many "tricks" to get this fixed but still am struggling with wheel wobble and vibration. I can't believe both grinders are the culprit. Still trying things but at some point I might need to go another direction with the CBN wheel.

I thought I had my slow speed grinder wheels balanced pretty well. I thought there was no vibration as the grinder was smooth from start up to full speed. Then I installed these CBN wheels. Now it's a whole new level of smoothness. The grinder is almost silent and I now have a new definition of what no vibration is. There were no spacers included so I had to experiment a bit to get them installed and lined up. I should never need a new wheel given the amount I will use these. Time will tell on longevity.

This wheel is great... I've had it for a few days, and have sharpened my turning tools several times on it, and I'm extremely happy with the result. Once the wheel had been balanced, it leaves a great edge, and I can have my fingers literally 15mm from the edge while grinding and not struggle with heat build up.BUT, my review is not of the 5/8" wheel...When I ordered this wheel, I was expecting the 5/8" bore to be the usual "roughly" sized imperial measurement, which we usually see in the metric/imperial grey areas, as my grinder has a 16mm spindle. Unfortunately, and to their credit, the seller manufactures their wheels extremely precisely... so the bore was very slightly too small. When I raised the return, the seller got in touch and so proceeds a great example of putting the customer first. The communication was excellent, they understood why I had raised the return. This is where they went from just an Amazon seller to an excellent service provider. Rather than accepting the return and leaving it at that, we talked about it and I gave them the exact measurements from my grinder... and they made one to fit. When I questioned them about the increased cost of making a 'new' wheel, the seller told me on two occasions that customer satisfaction was more important than profit, which is admirable and practically unheard of these days.However, what is truly exceptional, they did not make a 16mm bore as standard. Just to make sure I was happy and able to use their product, they literally made a bespoke wheel for me... and it truly is a fantastic bit of kit. I will certainly be replacing my other wheels through this seller, though I'll be getting in touch with them before ordering a 5/8" again.A great product, from a great company. This is my go to wheel for sharpening chisels. It works super fast and leaves a very precise clean edge. I do use it with a guide to get great consistency in my grinds. Super tool. Once you go CBN you never look back.
