Spurgeon and the Psalms: The Book of Psalms with Devotions from Charles Spurgeon (NKJV, Maclaren Series, Black Leathersoft, Comfort Print)

This is an amazing little book. It’s small enough to tote around and yet complete enough to be a real study tool. The text is large and spaced generously. Each Psalm has a preamble by the Prince of Preachers Charles Spurgeon, followed by the text of the Psalm itself in the New King James Version. There is also generous room to take notes should the reader feel so inclined. Quite helpfully, there are voluminous cross references on each page to the rest of the Christian Bible.The book itself has a beautiful leather cover with tight stitching. There is a little logo stamped on the cover and gold etched lettering on the spine. My only criticism is I wish this lettering was more prominent to help this book identify itself on the shelf adjacent to similar looking books. All in all this book is amazing value for how it’s packaged and the apparent quality it boasts. The book comes with a cardboard sleeve with further information about it.

I enjoy my KJV, but the NKJV translation is fine if I can't get the KJV. I would buy a KJV version if Nelson ever offered it, but the NKJV is probably much more user-friendly for a global audience, such as those with English as a second language. I have both an NKJV and a KJV reference Bible. Someone put effort and time into the layout and design of this book, quality. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it had reference verses at the bottom of each page. I like the Leathersoft cover.The pages are the thin paper pages that are typical in Bibles, requiring dry, clean hands when reading. The book of Psalms is the most referenced book in Spurgeon's Morning and Evening daily devotions book, which is also an excellent publication to use for Bible study or if one isn't sure where to start, the imitation leather 2018 edition.There are about 20 blank sheets at the back of the back for notes, but I find it easier to use a separate notebook. Printed in India, well done. I think the price is very good too.

Excellent quality book on the psalms. The top of each psalm has a thought by Spurgeon. Very wonderful and insightful. The quality of the book is excellent. Very well constructed. If you are looking for perfect daily reader fir psalms this is the one.

This is a slim and very nicely made book. It has a nice feel to it in hand. The pages / cover are a nice quality and I enjoy reading it. The font is easy on the eyes also. I've always enjoyed Charles Spurgeon's commentary. This is a nice touch at the beginning of each chapter.

A must have for anyone with a reformed doctrinal stance.

Inspired/moving read, also great for a gift, price is great!

I ordered this basically for travel- I wanted a small and light weight portion of the Bible that I could easily stick in a tote, suitcase, purse, etc, rather than try to haul my large and heavy study Bible. This works well for that purpose. This is nice enough to gift, however I received a copy that looked like it had some rough handling, several pages had been creased, crunched up, etc, then straightened back out. Had I bought it for a gift, I would have returned it and ordered again, hoping for a more pristine copy. Since is just for me, it's not a huge deal. The devotionals written by Charles Spurgeon at the beginning of each chapter are just OK. I'm guessing he might have written them later in his life, when he was struggling with illness, as they don't really measure up to most of his work.The font is large enough not to strain my 75 yo eyes, the paper is reminiscent of a heavier parchment, the cover is quite nice, but I question whether it is leather, as advertised. Plenty of room to write/ take notes on the page margins, if that is important to you. Overall a pretty good purchase!

Absolutely love this! Great for learning, the fonts are clear and the book itself is very slim. I will be a returning customer, my church will love these!
